EZA has been praising What Remains of Edith Finch. So after this batch of games I'm playing I'll dl that.

Then Night in the Woods eventually.

My hope is nothing good will come out in the summer so I'll have a solid 2 1/2 months to clear my backlog a bit.

 

A game doesn't have to have an explicit story line in order to sell a narrative, and knowing the FC games it will have an explicit story line. I think you're either ignorant to the fact that it's telling a story about a group of people because you're not a part of that group of people, or you're naive in thinking that there isn't something the story is trying to sell you. I'm not asking them to paint Christian cults with a pretty brush, in fact I'm hoping the opposite. The problem is when the entirety of a faith gets thrown into the mix because the storyteller hasn't done the homework to distinguish between the two. It's the same mistake conservative media makes when portraying Islam, painting all Muslims radical, rather than giving the faith a proper context.

I think the poster child for doing this the right way was Bioshock Infinite, which if anyone remembers me from the AP.net days when it launched I was the biggest critic of.

 

Bioshok Infinite had a lot of problems with regards to race relations. Not as bad as Far Cry's bullshit, but still bad.

When I'm telling people not expect much beyond angry NPCs with guns I'm not defending Far Cry. I'm just saying I have low expectations in that regard because I have no reason to assume they'll do better this time.

Really tempted to get Friday The 13th even though I know it's gonna be buggy.

Also $40 for street fighter switch is highway robbery and i sincerely hope sales are horrible.

 

So do games go away for Xbox game pass after a month when they change?

 

I almost want that Humble Bundle for The Day of the Tentacle just for nostalgia purposes even though I already have Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and Grim Fandango, but IDK, are the other games in there good?

 

It sucks how if USF2 doesn't do well Capcom will probably stop adequately supporting the Switch. I really want RE7.

 

I was really stoked when they first announced this last year, but recently gameplay footage has left me underwhelmed.

 

I think they haven't hammered that out completely

 

They will let you know what games are leaving before they go away and then if you want to buy the game to finish it, you can do that at a 20% discount.

i hope fc5 isn't awkward. and no not just cuz i love ubisoft. but with previous far cry games it's just like "hehe they're crazy!" and that's it. so i hope this one is somewhat different. but i dunno. the series is pretty much like that.

Not sure if anyone knows who Stallion83 is but he is the first gamer to reach 1 million Gamerscore on Xbox. He has a youtube channel and posted a video on how to maximize the 14 day free trial on the Xbox Games pass. That's over 15 games that can be completed in that time span. If you are not a completionist, I am sure there are plenty more.

this has what the X1 community has been holding on to for some time.

 

PUBG has done super well in early access on steam (and imo is a brilliant fun time), that barring possible porting snafus I can't imagine a console launch not coming ASAP.
