Simple mechanics and basic items on the surface, but the squid and movement through the ink really made for a deep experience. Plus the game modes and using clothes to boost your stats was really cool. Just such a fresh take on a well established genre.

 

I still want a vita just to play persona.

or a pstv but that's also hard to fine.

I wonder if EA will shut down Bioware Montreal and kill the ME IP. I wouldn't be surprised.

 

I doubt ME is dead. might take the backburner now until their Destiny type game is out. probably another dragon age in the pipeline too. I would have said before launch that the Montreal Bioware team was being set up to be an ME factory. honestly who knows now, EA are ruthless

75 on metacritic isn't bad.

 

16 points below the worst of the trilogy, that's a marked step down all things considered. anyway i don't think points rankings matters, what's in the reviews along with what i've played is more damning imo. shame.

Like I said, I'm not necessarily saying reviewers aren't right about this game, but the whole discussion around this game has become frantic and toxic, and reviews aren't written in a vacuum.

 

yeah we'll see if it's an opposite DA:I which got great reviews and a strong backlash since.

 

Gameplay itself seems ok, but quest design seems poor as does the writing judging by the 3 and a half hours of it I've seen from GB videos.

 

i've no doubt people will love the gameplay, it's just not for me. it feels odd, the auto cover is weird for how fast paced the game is. i think a dedicated cover button would be better. gunplay is, well idk it exists? it's not the best in class, it's not the worst but it's a clear step up from the trilogy. biotics are fuuuuuuuun, cooldowns on biotics is not. i think there will be a ton of amazing gifs coming out of what people can do with the biotics.

I thought it worked well in Max Payne 3... that was auto cover wasn't it?

 

I think what sucks most about the auto cover, is the fact you have to press a button to switch shoulders. It doesn't auto switch shoulders based on character position which makes it clunky.

It can work I guess but I'll always prefer to have control over it
