I ended up having a few more bills come out this month than I anticipated so I've had to cancel my switch pre-order. I'm going to pick it up end of march instead now. It's gonna kill me seeing everyone talk about Zelda next month.

 

As I was watching this, for some reason I thought of Jeff saying, "Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her." And, of course, the first comment you see under the video is "Jesus, Ivy's hot af in this game." comic books something something fighting games something something male gaze blah blah just because I'm aware of this doesn't mean I want the game any less. I like that they released a trailer featuring all these badass female characters on Valentine's Day. I think. I wish more games would empower women without oversexualizing them. Maybe I'm just weird in that I never really found cleavage all that attractive--I think Supergirl is super cute in this game, as was Batgirl in the previous one. Character designs aside, I don't think I had any problems with how they handled female characters in the story modes of Injustice and MK9; they were pretty equal opportunity in terms of people getting hurt and dying. I'm so excited to finally get the game in 2020. Going to probably get MK10 sometime this year or next.

 

Wish I cared even a little bit about fighting games because Injustice 2 looks great

Yeah that was my worry, by then all the Zelda talk hopefully would've died down so I don't mind waiting a bit longer. Worst case I'll just pick up horizon next month instead to help numb the pain of no zelda. Hopefully they'll still be in stock though.

I've been thinking of trading in my Xbox One.

 

$50 extra trade in at Gamestop for an Xbox ONE.

On that same note, it really makes sense to have one of each console so you can play everything, even though I don't agree with exclusivity.

Interesting. Might take advantage of that trade in since I'm considering buying a Switch and not sure I want to trade in my also-ignored Wii U because there's some games on it I'd like to return to one day.

I like the games I've played on it, but anyone who actually plays with me is on ps4. So it's turned on like once every few months and then i see i need an update and then turn it back off.

 

Exclusives aside, how are consoles any different from hooking up a PC to your TV and playing games on Steam? It's gotten to the point where consoles can play stuff from YouTube and Netflix, just like computers, right? I mean, yeah, if you're really serious about it, you'll probably want to upgrade your hardware every couple of years, but how's that much different from buying a new console every generation?

 

I get what your saying and agree. The debate is old and stale but some people like consoles.

Edit: A LOT of people like consoles.

 

Don't XBOX controllers already use USB? And I'm pretty sure people have already made emulators on PC up to at least PS2. Why can't companies make an official way of doing that for the later generations? Pop a PS4 disk into your PC and voila!

I think it's about convenience as well, why spend funds on computer parts that you have to install and deal with when you can buy a box that's plug and play?

 

I meant to imply "install and deal with" when I said "upgrade your hardware," but yeah, that does make sense. I technically didn't build my own PC; my brother did.

Been playing a bit of Odin Sphere and now in honor of Valentines day, Catherine. Excited to jump into that tonight. Anything to distract me until 3/3

 

Got my first hour in on Sniper Elite 4, really like the additions to the solid gameplay from the previous one and the kill cam still has yet to get old.

I really really hope we get her in some capacity. She was my main in the first game. We'll likely get a lot of DLC, based on the last MK game, so who knows.
