If I had 150 million dollars to sink I'd make an open world game with the Santa Clause starring Tim Allen license, with the scope and production value of a GTAV. I have thought about this an unhealthy amount.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is really good so far but really nothing so far seems to set it apart from the first reboot.

 

I'm also playing RotTR, a few hours in and it's definitely more Tomb Raider reboot so far but I'm totally okay with that.

 

As much as I love a lot about TR2013, I hate how they handled Sam's character. It's probably my only gripe, but it's a major one. I'm hoping ROTR doesn't have the same issue. Other than that, I really am hoping for just more of the same.

 

Many more exploratory options in ROTTR, but the story is just as good if not better than the reboot. I had a great time playing

 

ROTTR was definitely fun. I enjoyed the first more, but it was still a good game.

I just finished Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter and had a wonderful time. Probably in the minority on that one, but I'm a sucker for mystery games.

 

I actually prefer ROTR over the first game. It took what was great about the first and made it even better. (Plus it didn't have that god awful multiplayer)

 

Yeah Rise did nothing but improve.

 

I never played the first Tomb Raider reboot am I ok playing Rise? I have it sitting on my shelf and might start it now that I finished RE7.

 

I think you will be ok. There is one character that is from the first game that shows up in the second but the stories are not really connected.
