What WERE the launch goals of X1? I'm not aware

It's already been discussed. "All in one system"; movies, games, TV, etc.

I think he was insinuating that, even though those things are there, Microsoft fell short on it's goals.

Outlast would be the obvious one. Kholat is like Firewatch with a really hard to navigate map that doesn't update to your position, it's about the Dyatlov Pass incident which is an incredibly interesting story, it's a tough game but I loved it. The Park is more in line with the games that get placed under the "Walking Simulator" banner but it's really scary and has a great story, I know me and Colby loved it. Layers Of Fears is also a lot of fun for psychedelic pop out scares, and has great DLC that feels a lot different than the main game, same with Outlast. Daylight isn't a great game but I had some fun with its procedurally generated scares. Gone Home also scared the piss out of me.

i've been on the fence about buying Kholat and I've never heard of The Park. Will probably check those out soon. I've played Outlast and its dlc and loved those.

Gone Home didn't scare me but it definitely had some very creepy vibes to it.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

I always call it the X1 or just the One.

also BC and EA Access are the best thing about the One.

Yeah Kholat is not going to be for everyone, it's a recommendation with an asterisk. I had it for like a month of starting and stopping before I finally dived in and got completely lost in the world (literally, because of the fucking map). It's rewarding as hell though.

I played Gone Home in the dark with headphones and even knowing it wasn't a horror game the noises just destroyed me. There's a lot of whispering and shit that really screws with your head.

Yes, play it in the dark with headphones and it's terrifying. The mood is incredibly tense.

Correct, however that constant feeling of not knowing if anybody is the or if something may jump out at any moment is pretty fucking terrifying. I wouldn't consider Firewatch a horror game either but the amount of anxiety that that game gives us some of the scariest shit I've ever played.
