I may have to check those out. The game reminds me of that latest Farcry but with some mechs and machines thrown in lol

For me it's disappointing in almost every way, especially story.

I'm very much looking forward to it. Gameplay looks fun and I love the look of the game. I'm hoping it lives up to my hype. It'll get put on hold immediately for me when Zelda comes out though.

    pretty much same barring music.

Combat system is just plain ole not fun, side quests are the worst of the worst when it comes to open world stuff.

I didn't get far into it and I'm sure it gets better at a point but yeah, didn't appeal to me at all.

gonna see how the reviews are for Horizon before I get it... hopefully it lives up to hype.

I know that this has been discussed in the other thread, but the story in a JRPG is just not that important in the grand scheme of it. 90% of JRPGs have crappy, cliche stories. I just can't see how someone could find everything else disappointing. It's all so well done and detailed.

What makes Persona 4 my favorite JRPG of all time is the story. The greatest are certainly remembered for their stories.

The side quests are the best I've ever seen in a game. ANY GAME. They are diverse, interesting and they lead to optional dungeons/areas. What more could you want? Sure, some of them have similar goals/directions, but there is no way to avoid that. I didn't care for the combat at first, and I still think it's far from perfect. But it certainly is fun. How long did you play it?

    What? Good lord no.

And only 5 hours, so maybe it does get better but best of any game? Doubtful.

P4 does have an incredible plot. No doubt. But I became very bored with the random dungeons. Still love the game. But a story like that in a JRPG is rare.

I loved FFXV but yeah the side quests aren't that great haha

Witcher III's really? I didn't finish the game, but I don't remember the side quests being anything memorable. I did not play Fallout 3, only 4. And Rockstar games just have a bunch of objectives, those aren't really side quests. And they're all the same...?

I guess I'm in the minority. I think it's about as good as it could get. How coils they be better? I'm curious as to what people think.

The Witcher III side quests felt important and like they were a big part of the story. I think in FFXV they're pretty much fetch/hunt quests.

The Bloody Baron Quest in Witcher III is one of the best I've ever played.

And there are absolutely side missions in Rockstar games.

watch dogs 2 had a bunch of side quests that were related to the overall story/theme which is a massive reason why i liked it so much.
i enjoyed skyrim's side quests more than its main story lol

They get you involved in all of the mini games. They also get you to nearly all of the dungeons and optional areas. There's a tie-in/story to go along with them and a unique character too.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is an example of how to do side quests the wrong way imo.

The story is mainly what draws me to JRPGs actually, haha. That and how weird and wonderful the world's and characters are, which in XV are both letdowns for me. The combat has gotten progressively worse for me as I've gotten farther into the game too.

I don't mind that we have people with specific side quests (finding jewels, taking photos, picking up deliveries), but they shouldn't make you do that same exact thing 3+ times lol

I need to play WD2 sometime soon.
