Thinking i'm more excited for Overwatch than i ever have been for a multiplayer only game

I think each MOBA is rewarding in it's own way. That being said, I think the generally accepted hierarchy of skill ceiling is pretty spot on of Heroes < League < Dota2. Part of the difficulty can contribute to way certain people find the far right more rewarding to the far left, just like different people find Dark Souls more rewarding than say, Skyrim or something.

 

Overwatch definitely looks the most fun out of the upcoming MOBA-Shooter things

 

Overwatch is fun, but without a competitive queue, it gets kind of redundant and the matches are meh.

No disrespect. I played Leauge for about 3 years? Got up to Gold at best. I was never very good but okay enough.

Honestly, I had no interest in HOTS until just earlier in 2015. The fact the games are short so I can grind more out really drew me in. Plus, it's fun just hitting heroes and not laning as much.

Regardless, HOTS people are nice(r) i would say BUT there are some assholes.

Sometimes, I'm one of them. :(. I'm working on it.

 

Overwatch just doesn't appeal to me. What are you looking forward to with it? Maybe i'm missing something!

 

i don't really "get" moba's. just not for me i guess.

 

word! all good. that seems to be the big appeal of HOTS, more aggressive hero on hero action but idk the heroes just all feel weird to me. i guess ive been spoiled by LoL because its made it impossible for me to try other MOBAs.

plus I just love the champions and lore of LoL a lot, in addition to the runes, masteries, and items system.

 

MOBA communities in general are pretty shite. Happens any uber competitive team based game.

 

The idea of everyone being a different hero and having completely different powers is exciting. I've watched a lot of Beta footage from TB and he loves it so I'm sure that is rubbing off on me. Looks like a hectic, great time. It's always bugged me when the biggest different between each person playing is whether their gun is automatic or not.

 

I always felt the rune system was superfluous. Obviously the other two are much more important, but I've always viewed the rune system as a hassle.

 

i've played 600+ games of HOTS and there have only been a handful of really bad people. in comparison i've played under 100 league games and it was less pleasant

 

same. the variety is what's most appealing. and there's already SO many characters.

 

HotS was definitely the best, but it's certainly an exception to the genre rather than the norm.

 

i feel like runes make a huge difference in the first 3 levels or so. i usually main mid so when im missing my AP runes or MR runes i feel it.

 

Yeah, I'm not a computer player so I haven't really been able to play the staples, I've watched some footage and tried to figure out what's going on. I have Smite downloaded, thinking It a try. Words like "meta-game" scare me.

 

Won't lie. I do like the heroes of league better. Buying items was always fun for power spikes, etc.

Both games have their appeal. I just got worn out with "competitive" side of LoL.

Also, HOTS is easier than League but hard enough to keep my interest.

I do watch a lot of league, though. The pro scene is really great to me and they do an amazing job. Much better than HOTS.

 

I can understand that. I'll check it out more. I'm sure it is fun.

 

That's my problem with them, they are so necessary they should just be free, felt like an unnecessary grind to me.

 

i prefer the heroes of HOTS because of the games they're from. i've played Hearthstone (read a bit of WOW lore) and Diablo and so yeah. haha. I love Jaina, Li-Ming, Malfurion. And now Overwatch heroes are going to be added.

 

They all seem really interesting too. Listening to TB already fanboying over Winston is great. Legit want to learn as much about the characters as possible and that's really weird for a multiplayer shooter
