Replayed through Tales From the Borderlands over the weekend. It's still the best Telltale series in my opinion. Still blows my mind that only a small team made it. It's also one of the few, if not the only Telltale series that has major consequences in the world that it inhabits. Not that games like The Walking Dead aren't good, but the Borderlands universe was legitimately changed by TFtB. It never avoided the fact that there was a larger world that existed before it and that will exist after it.

 

Still need to properly play through both Borderlands but TFtB was such a damn great game

 

The original Borderlands is pretty good for its gameplay, obviously. Its humor is also much more dry, which I prefer. Though I do like the wacky humor of the recent games too. But its narrative wasn't particularly great. It wasn't until its DLC expansions where the writers finally figured out how they wanted to write their stories.

Borderlands 2 is better all around. The Pre-Sequel is fine.

 

Why would you keep playing a game you didn't like all the way to the end?

 

Great news, hopefully they un-fuck the Yakuza 3 localization. Probably won't play them again but it's awesome that all the mainline games will be on one console after it seems a lot of people started up with 0.

hm. as an observation of objectivism, bioshock's narrative was fun. and i liked ryan's death. but from there it got increasingly confused about what it wanted to believe. i think ken levine is a centrist.

 

It was one of those games where I was hoping it would solve some of its glaring narrative issues in the end. Like maybe they were intentionally dropping plotholes or something for a twist later on, but nope. The game has the most cringeworthy dialogue and voice acting I've ever experienced. It's so fucking garbage. When I looked at the Metacritic score of the game, which I believe stands in the 70's, I almost gasped trying to comprehend how stupid people must be today.
