Playing through Shadow of the Colossus for the first time.

Just defeated the second one - enjoying it, controls are a little whacky though. Kinda wondering why its proclaimed as one of the best games of all time though.

Yeah, I could see it being pretty jaw dropping 13 years ago.

 

Yeah the exploration and size of the Colossi back then was pretty remarkable. In this day and age, with stuff like Witcher III and recently Monster Hunter, it doesn't seem as impressive.

 

It made people wonder how it runs on a PS2

 

Randomly got to thinking of 1 vs 100 on the 360 today, I miss that game so much. Please Phil Spencer, you're my only hope.

 

This game was doomed from the onset.

SOTC is a perfect 10 to me. The world it creates is more interesting and enjoyable to explore than most other open world games for me because it's not stuffed with useless shit, it just has a bunch of fantastic boss fights, all with great designs and interesting ways to fight them. The story it tells is also simple yet very effective imo. One of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had.

 

I don't think I got the same sense of exploration and excitement again until I played Dark Souls honestly.

 

I’ve probably beaten Shadow of the Colossus like ten times lol. When I had that game for PS2 I would seriously just play it over and over again. At the time it was easily the most cinematic game I had ever played and it made huge impression on me. Controls were a little wonky, but not enough to detract from the overall experience. And one would think that because the world was empty it would be really boring to explore, but I enjoyed every minute of that barren wasteland. It was perfectly depressing haha. I’m very excited to play it again on PS4

 

The only real problem I ever had with Shadow of the Colossus was the one where you have to get the colossus to step on the geyser in order to tip it over. It was very hard to get him to do it even if you were playing correctly.

Still my second favorite game of all time, though.

That was over a year ago haha. It didn't work so I moved on. Sorry bud. But I think (free and really simple) WordPress.com would work good for a portfolio! if you wanna buy a domain name, namecheap.com would be good for that.

 

Or like a Tumblr maybe, if it's just to show your chops
