Gonna try a few episodes of one of their shows to start. Thinking Noisey? What's consensus best program for now
So I finished Weediquette last night which was very good. A lot of it is very heavy and devastating, but there's so much information that I didn't know that came across as surprising. As someone who is a frequent user, typically to treat my depression/anxiety, I may have liked it more than some as it helped me understand what the plant is really doing to help me, something I became very interested in when I was living in Vancouver and experimenting with various strains from the medical dispensaries. I'm fully on board for another season and very curious to see where they might take it. I then started Noisey and watched the first two episodes. It's also a lot heavier than I anticipated, but it's been eye opening so far. The Bompton episode was good but the Sao Paulo episode really pulled me in, probably because these are circumstances I hear/know less about than what's going on in North America. I was mostly pulled into the series because the list of guests but it's really much more than I expected.
I'm genuinely loving this channel. I love rewatching a bunch of the old VBS stuff, I've loved a lot of their new shows (Super into King Of The Road right now, wish I knew how to skateboard) BUT God damn, their live stream of the Governers Ball was an absurd disaster. For the first two nights, when the bands were actually playing went well. But them desperately trying to fill time was super uncomfortable...and then night 3 (the cancelled night) hit and it was excruciating. An hour (maybe two? I don't even know) of Vice employees bitching at each other and fighting over what they should film? Ezra from Vampire Weekend and ILoveMakonnen doing a weird set while other employees talked over them? It felt like some loose chaos that I would normally love (like Entourageathon or Adam Pally hosting late night) but that was just excruciating. But I watched most of it....so fuck me.
I went to a Viceland party at Comic con this year, it was at the House of Blues and was pretty fun. but. Outside the party, was a party bus. A Viceland bus. It was a school bus sprayed entirely white and branded with Viceland. Inside was free beer in coolers, there were lighters, "pills" that actually were just mint. Then there were people doing cocaine on the bus, sitting right next to us, there was a lot of maddness going on in this tiny little bus. Was it legal? I dunno, but they gave me free beer and I drank a lot of it before I got off that bus. Viceland is a TV Channel, that's about all I know about Viceland
So glad Dead Set On Life is back already, pretty crazy how little downtime theres been on Viceland seasons so far
He's so weird but incredibly smart. If you havent yet, check out his web series. I believe I read in an early interview that he was roommates with Thomas Morton of Ball's Deep.
FLOTUS ep of Balls Deep is good. One of the better President/VP propaganda eps of a show I've seen. A lot of times it feels like a show has to completely change or censor itself, this didn't
James Van Der Beek is writing and starring in a new show called "What Would Diplo Do?". It's being described as Louie meets WorldStar meets This is Spinal Tap. Spike Jonze is "shepherding" the show.
people It's actually been on Netflix for a while. I've had it sitting on my queue but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
