Yeah this is where I'm at, Gemstones genuinely has a great story that sucks you in but VP is funnier (don't get me wrong, Gemstones is still probably the most I've laughed at a show in months)

I honestly think Eastbound and the Kenny Powers character will forever be McBride's magnum opus though

 

To this day I find myself calling Danny McBride Kenny Powers instead 75% of the time. Legend.

 

Just finished this up. Really loved it.

 

I never finished this, think I stopped partly through the first season.

Goggins made this show for me. His character was better than McBrides, which is impossible, but some how pulled off.

 

Such a great show. Been meaning to re-watch it for a while now.

 

What's the consensus on this show? Just about done with season 2 and I don't like it near as much as season 1.

 

I liked season 2 better, loved the show overall but remember very little

 

Just re-watched this with my wife earlier this year. It's my least-favorite McBride/Hill show but it's still very good. Season one had a better overall story arch but season two has it's moments. Who doesn't love Edi Patterson?

 

Anything with Walton goggins is good

 

Me and my wife loved it and wanted more haha

 

I do appreciate that they had the whole story ready and just shot both seasons back to back

 

I will watch anything that has Danny Mcbride and Walton Goggins together

 

Still never watched this for some reason. Need to get on it.

 

I enjoyed the series, but nothing will touch Eastbound and Down.

 

I dunno, Gemstones is getting pretty close

 

i'm ready to say gemstones > EB&D

 

Gemstones is more consistent than Eastbound

 

Season 1 of EB&D and final season are much better than any Gemstones season in my opinion. But the in-between seasons aren't as great. Gemstones has been great and consistent so its a toughie.

 

All 3 shows are great, but nothing even comes close to EBD for me - stone cold classic and by far his best character

 

Happy to report that season 2 won me over by the end. I just thought it was a measure more absurd than season 1, but it ended up working out.
