Would love for this to be his comeback/breakthrough, I'll never stop rooting for Vic

Singles are all strong so far

Nah it's not really a Young Thug/Future situation where they had a million mixtapes and then the "debut" album years later, he actually really has released mostly EPs for most of his career besides The Autobiography. The only other full length was Innanetape which is a mixtape

Album is officially called "Victor" btw

Damn I guess I must be remembering all the EPs then

Revistied Innanetape this morning and damn it's so good. I know it's not really his style anymore, but would love to hear him knock it out of the park with a new one. I enjoyed the last few EPs but haven't been blown away by anything for a while

Will forever bother me now, just like SZA releasing S and Z but no A lol

Oh there’s a Farrakhan sample on the album too. Great!

I'm listening to this album right now and there's a ton of questionable lyrics, he very much believes the same shit Jay does

Man I was such a huge Vic fan in like 2012-2017 but I think he's just never going to reach the potential I always thought he had. This album is fine but I really don't feel the need to return to it

Before this came out I did a whole discography run and I have to agree. I find it very interesting that for so long he has focused on being extremely personal, that's his thing. Autobiography.... Victor, V, I.... All are so blatantly personal. But my take is that he didn't quite have the skills to incorporate his stories into engaging music. He doesn't really have the ability to make lasting songs, memorable songs. I think a lot of his songs do tell some really incredible stories, not it's missing the rest. Anyway, either way, this album feels like his worst music lyrically, so either way I'm out

Weirdly, I think he's gotten better and better as a rapper but worse as an overall songwriter

    I think that's fair

He’s just not as talented as the rappers he wants to be like and thus gets compares to, sometimes it’s as simple as that
