But really, this is the worst. Had the same thing happen to me recently.

 

Mine left to do catering, I just go to Supercuts now it's fine but I no longer feel that connection

 

Now I have to explain all over again. Ugh.

Right? Catching up was half the fun.

 

Getting asked to come in on my day off is srsly annoying. They short staff the late shift so they're screwed when there's a call off. I already have a lot to do and never finish on my normal days off then when I get asked to come in its like I don't have a life or anything to do. I'm always behind in my cleaning

 

Fuck allergies. I woke up with my eyes so swollen I could barely see. Been walking around with a cold rag on them all day and now they aren't swollen but are burning and itching so bad ugh. And the lawn needs mowed again which means it is only going to get worse. And I'm out of my allergy medicine and I can't find any that help my eyes. They all make me sneeze less and my nose run less, but my eyes are still all fucked up.

 

I'm recovering from knee surgery (ACL reconstruction- for the third time- second time on the right knee; had it on the left knee years ago). Everything's going well and I'm gaining strength back thanks to physical therapy, but insurance sucks and doesn't want to approve more visits because I can just "work out at home". I can, but it's still helpful to have the guidance of a PT.

 

I wish people would stop with that whole "if you get a degree in something other than a STEM field you'll be a failure forever" nonsense. It almost pressured me to major in something I hated, but luckily I wised up and changed my major to something I liked instead. Just bums me out that college is so stressful already without people adding more pressure. I'm glad I chose a field I love instead of something "practical." My sis showed me what someone posted on fb. It said "oh you majored in sociology and women's studies. See you at Starbucks."

And I'm like oh hey I went to school for both those things and got a job shortly after graduation where I make enough to live alone and have paid off lots of my student loans and get to save up to do fun things while also working in a field related to my degree. But I'll c u in line at Starbucks as ur shaming both students and hard working Starbucks employees who probably spit in ur drink. K bye

 

also if everyone majored in Engineering there'd be no engineering jobs left, plus if I designed a building everyone in it would die because I can barely draw a straight line

 

I'm not a big swearer but FUCK FURNITURE YOU HAVE TO PUT TOGETHER. Wtf. I put together my Ikea vanity by myself a few years ago so I thought I had this shelf from target down. No. I BROKE IT. I threw a fit but figured I could salvage it. Except apparently it broke because it's all just slightly unstraight. Just enough to throw it all off. So I have to work backwards and figure out where it got screwed up. I'm about to pull a Ross Gellar and return it to the store like THIS SHELF IS BROKEN. I'D LIKE TO EXCHANGE IT FOR ONE THAT IS NOT BROKEN.

My dad is letting my brother use my food items I buy for myself, despite the fact that I put my name on it. I get told to put my name on it so no one else uses it, yet that doesn't do jack shit since he lets others use my stuff. x infinity

 

Went to listen to music on Spotify and my dad is still apparently logged into my account and I am too nice to boot him off. I logged into my account on his phone since I have premium so we could all listen to music at a family party. That was like 2 years ago and he still hasn't logged out bc he still cannot figure it out. His phone is some weird old phone so I can't explain it to him over the phone bc it's different on mine than his apparently. And he's listening to fucking Ted Nugent. I should boot him off just for that lol

 

Spend $5 more a month and get the family plan.

 

I'm on my friend's family plan already. He has his own account (he refuses to pay for premium though) but he just can't figure out how to log out of my account and back into his and I basically never see him to do it for him. I try telling him over the phone how to do it but he says it's not working so idk!

 

I'm the only one with the most fucked up work schedule than anyone and I'm beyond pissed. I work basically half a weekend and my boss has got my working weekends for the rest of the month. I deliberately told her last week I couldn't do it again and I'm scheduled to work. I said I could one it ONE TIME!! My entire schedule is changed while everyone else is either working their normal days or just on one of their days of. My anger knows no bounds right now

 

My local music scene really bums me out as a local musician. Like... not a single person tries to be their own thing. There's a band that's been playing a lot of house shows lately that is such a painful immitation of The Strokes, right down to how their frontman dresses and it's just sad to see

 

My sore ribs from coughing are killing me. It prob hurts worse cause I keep doing physical stuff but I also can't just not do stuff ever. I did nothing today to make up for all the stuff I did yesterday but like... i have stuff to do and laying around all day is boring unless it's by choice lol. I can't be bedridden for weeks cause that's ridic. It hurts to get up or lay on my side so being comfortable is like never an option. So far this summer blows lol

 

I have lyme disease. I've turned into Bart Simpson with a broken leg for the summer

 

I was looking for somewhere in this forum to unload some rage and this looks like the place.

I'm working on a project at work. At the point where I checked it all in, the support team start questioning the spec for it and asking for a load of different things. So I've spent the last couple of weeks updating documents, changing code and getting it to how they want it to be. Yesterday, they drop the bombshell that they don't like what one of the fundamental points of the work does.

I now have to remove it. I have to update multiple specs to reflect that I have removed it. The original spec for this has been available since late March/early April and they never mentioned that this aspect would be an issue if we implemented it. I've got 60 hours of work into just working on the code (another 30-40 in doc work). I am fucking furious.

What's most infuriating, is that this element of the work was by far the most complicated and time consuming bit.

 

This week at work has been absolute hell. Putting in 55+ hours because we're understaffed is draining me.

 

oh i know that feeling i was a server at a Chilis for about 6 years and we were always understaffed for the summer and i live in a beachtown so yeah, that exacerbated the situation immensely. take care of yourself my friend, i need my coheed/dear hunter discussion buddy in my life haha.

 

my only frustration in life right now is that right now im kinda in between jobs. so my moms been working for this woman named Judy for about 20 years or so, so ive known Judy and her family pretty much my entire life and theyre all very sweet and very good to us. Judys brother owns the local ice cream and local sandwich shops here near my town so i, after quitting my last job in frustration, got a call from him and he told me he was really impressed with how good i was as a server at Chilis (him and his family came in a lot) and he wanted me to work at his ice cream shop for the summer then transition into being a manager at his sandwich/food shops and just generally being his right hand man. thats fine and im very thankful for that, hes a great boss and both jobs are easy. the main issue is that the ice cream shop has a lot of 14-16 year olds as employees and im by yards the oldest person there. my frustration basically just boils down to the fact that the kids dont listen to me and half-ass a lot of their work so im left to pick up the pieces. its small potatoes in the grand scheme but i just needed to get that out my system lol.

 

Thank you! I'm trying haha. It sucks because right now our company is in a hiring freeze so we can't even bring anyone in to help. I'll get through it though, with any luck it'll start sorting itself out soon.

 

Chili's is tight. It's like applebees but with an exciting Mexican flair.

 

My boss is super hard to deal with. She's so rude and confrontational and I've gotten a lot better at my job since I've started (I've heard shes said this to another co-worker) but she still manages to make me feel like shit. So today, there are two shows here and there's no merch, so usually one of the two box office people leave once the show starts. Well she told the other guy to go at 530 (when he got here), apparently because he's working a ton and will hit overtime quicker, at least that's my guess. First show was at 630, and now the 930 is a decent bit in but I've just been slammed today and literally everything is a problem with her.
