You need to call the cops/animal control/wherever and have that dog taken away. Like sucks for the woman but if your dog is attacking people, it time for it to go.

Yeah I didn't do anything the first time bc I just thought it was an accident and the dog just got away from her but obviously it wasn't just a one time thing. There are 4 or 5 houses in a row all with small children and they all ride their bikes/scooters past that house nearly every day in the summer so I know I need to do something before one of them gets hurt. Just sucksssss.

@Jams I agree. Call the cops/animal control. Unfortunate for the lady, but that’s the consequences. You don’t know if the dog has had all it’s shots. Did you seek medical care for the wounds? The woman needs to pay or reimburse you. If someone’s dog bit me and broke skin, I’m calling animal control/cops or whomever is the proper authority

I didn’t get medical care, just did it myself but animal control is supposed to let me know if I need to go get a rabies shot. They said they would go today to look into it so idk what they will actually do but they said if the woman doesn’t have proof that the dog is up to date on its shots I need to go get one just in case. Idk if they’ll just give the woman a warning or what but I reported it so at least it’s on file I guess.

The girl I trained for my old position months ago, I still feel like I have to do some of her duties. She doesn’t keep things stocked, things are unorganized and a mess. She doesn’t communicate well. I’m surprised she was ever a shift manager in the past because I don’t see leader qualities in her. I keep having to show her things because she doesn’t pay attention, and I’m really frustrated that something that is her job I’m being made responsible for! I showed her this thing and I’m going to have to show her again. She doesn’t even ask for help!! I tell her if she doesn’t remember she needs to ask or ask someone to “shadow” her and make sure she’s doing it right. But she doesn’t! Then she runs out of supplies and it’s my fault. I told our lead that every time i try to show her something she doesn't listen and walks away, says something like “I don’t know how/I don’t know what that is” but doesn’t take the initiative to learn. I have so much on my plate and my manager keeps addicting responsibilities for me (too much then anyone else) that I don’t need this additional stress to do her job which is simple. I did far more than she does when I had that position. Still can’t believe she was ever a shift manager based off the way she works.

I recently bought a sofa. It seems “sleepable”. I took a nap on it today and my cat seems to like it. I also have a slip cover for it. The original material wasn’t as soft as I thought.

I almost died....or bare minimum, my car might have gotten really destroyed....

I was in a dangerous part of Austin (unbeknownst to yours truly) late at night and I was at a red light intersection planning on going straight. Before the light even turned a bunch of cars honk and speed past me to go right (they go into the other lane onto on coming traffic). All the cars had neon lights underneath and really sharp pointy hubcap things. Finally light turns green and I don't tolerate that shit and try and go (ya know...straight) but cars keep cutting me off. So I honk and honk.

Then the cars stop in front of me and another car to the side and another car behind me. They boxed me in on purpose. "I drive the fuck i want to drive", guy with tattoos all over his face and knife in hand. His buddy gets out of car too.

I reach for phone to call cops and I roll my eyes at them and shut up. I put my hands up like "whatever let's just go" . Luckily there were plenty of other people at this intersection.

I seriously feared mostly them fucking up my car and driving away. I was gonna write down license plate numbers but they had them purposely blocked out.

    Moral of the story
    - east riverside after dark. Avoid
    - don't honk at cars driven by guys probably in cartels

I need a safe space to bitch.

I'll be active on the transplant list on Monday! Woo! Good news! So I'm working on the logistics of a caretaker. My husband will obviously be going with me to Minnesota. The weekend of Aug 14th his best friend is getting married. It's SUPER important to me that he still gets to go to the wedding. I SHOULD be about 2 weeks post-op at that point and won't need much. Just someone to bring food and hang out at the hotel, go for walks, etc. I asked my Dad if he's available that weekend to come to MN to be my "caretaker". He said he'll be there for me but he'll need help with the hotel arrangements. This will be on top of the $2500-ish my husband and I will be spending to stay up there the whole time (thats just lodging)

So here's my issue. We live in IL. He goes to Missouri 5-6 times a year to visit my sister. He has always stayed in hotels for 2-3 days at a time and has NEVER asked her to pay for his hotel. He is in no way hurting for cash. He has a sizable pension, receives SS and basically has no debts besides his vehicle.

Am I wrong for being annoyed that hes asking for financial help with this?

This is your dad saying this? No, he should want to help you guys out unless he is unable to due to some unforeseen financial circumstances you haven't been made aware of.

Yep. That’s my Dad. I’m just so bothered. It’s always been this way and I’ve brushed it off for years since I’m 34 now haha but this isn’t a minor thing for us. I didn’t think 2-3 nights would be an issue.

In 2017, I went for a transplant and it was a disaster. He waited almost a day and a half before he came up (he demanded he wait on my brother in law to come up, my sister was already home ready to go). This was after I received 15 minutes of CPR. Then he spent more time taking them shopping and out to dinner than with me. I should be used to his bullshit. I did ask my sister first this time but she can’t get off work.

Well damn, i'm sorry to hear that. I don't really have any other advice then. That's not really someone i'd personally want to keep around in my life...though i know that's easier said than done.

I spilled mandarin soda on my sofa. I had a slip cover but it still soaked through. And left a stain. Looked up on the website where I got it for cleaning instructions Because of the type of fabric.. Got upholstery cleaner and hope it works. Anyone had similar experience

edit: there’s still a stain. I’m trying to reach out to customer service of where I got the sofa saying it ruined my couch when I cleaned it per their instructions

just wanted to come back and say I HAVE A WORKING KIDNEY for 9 days now!! Dad hasn’t come up at all and that’s good because ugh. He already fucked up and I think I may go limited contact when we go home in a few weeks. My sister was here with me (in MN)and their dog had some sort of accident and almost didn’t make it (still kinda in the woods) and he (in IL) was going to drive to Missouri to help out her ex-husband with the dog. My sister and her ex both were like uhhhhh no. Absolutely not. So he’s not welcome here either.

Basically everyone on my dad's side of the family will not get vaccinated and it is infuriating. My aunt did and her husband did (only bc of work mandates). I thought I had convinced my grandma to get it but then her doctor told her to not get it. Yes, HER DOCTOR!!!! Like wtf kinda doctor are you??? He said they "aren't safe" and basically made her feel like she would die if she got it so now she won't get it. My nephews are back in school and neither wear masks. My SIL is pregnant, won't get the vaccine even though her OB/GYN begged her to, refuses to wear a mask yet works at a grocery store!! They think having kids wear masks is "child abuse" and will give them "respiratory problems" and think COVID is just "the flu." I have begged them to take this seriously. I work in the medical field and even though I'm not on the front lines, I'm working with medical records all day every day so I see from that alone how serious this shit is but they will not believe me. They think only old people or people who have health issues will die from it. Like I've had healthy, young patients die from this shit and they think I'm just crazy and making it all up. I am so scared for my nephews and my grandma in particular. I'm an absolute mess from all the stress and worry. And my dad got pissed when he found out I was vaccinated and was trying to hold magnets up to my arm bc he's all in on the microchip conspiracy, etc. How am I related to these people????

I’m so sorry about this. I am very lucky that all my extended family and father in law got theirs but I have friends that refuse to. I just got a kidney transplant so I absolutely cannot be around any of them. It’s a weird time in my life and not being able to see any of them hurts but I’m drawing the line. I know that’s easier than family.

I jinxed myself!! I was going to post about how I think I have new neighbors behind me and how they’ve been quiet and I haven’t heard noise. Then I decided to to post. Well, They’re blasting their music!!! Same shitty shit as the other annoying people that lived behind me. The source of the music is from a different area because I can hear it more from my bedroom now. Bad luck strikes again!!

I went to check and see if my package was here on my lunch break. Accidentally closed the door behind me so now I’m stuck waiting in the hallway for maintenance bc I’m locked out. They can’t give me a time and I need to be back to work in 30 minutes. It’s also extremely hot bc my building doesn’t have air but I can’t wait outside bc you need a key for that door too lol looks like I’m skipping lunch today…
