The one where there are terrible comic book transitions and Hulk only fights a big dog and a rock/cloud monster? There is no why its better than Dare Devil that had a few things going for it.
The “problem” with Hulk is that it’s much more effective as a drama about the relationship between fathers and their children than it is as a superhero movie. So if you’re watching it to watch a superhero movie, you’re gonna be disappointed. But as a movie, it is much more artistically sound than Daredevil and it is CERTAINLY more artistically sound than Catwoman. (Also the comic book transitions are cool)
That is probably the one superhero movie I've never seen actually. I just never got around to it, which is weird for me because I even liked Dare Devil.
It is, but if you didn't like the theatrical cut it doesn't make it so much better to change minds. Kind of like the Batman v Superman cuts.
I honestly don't remember too much about DD other than I liked it when it came out, which was when I was a lot younger. Considering the quality of superhero movies we've gotten since then, I have no reason to ever rewatch it. Plus S3 of the netflix show is dropping soon! Also, don't bring up BvS here. I love that movie
Hahaha I like it a lot too, and the extended cut made it a lot better. I was just comparing it in the sense of the director cuts will make it a lot better for people who already like it, but probably not change minds. I cannot wait for season 3 of Dare Devil. The first 2 seasons are some of my all time favorites ever.
The directors cut feels like a much fuller movie than the theatrical cut did, especially with the courtroom stuff. It still has problems but it’s less of a mess if that makes sense.
Oh boy. The right people have the right opinions about this movie for me. LET'S GO. Gonna be a blast.
This quote from a UK review is such a distinctly British diss and I love it: "Sony Pictures appear to have lavished a nine-figure sum on, and are now hoping to establish an entire cinematic universe on the back of, a character who looks like someone drizzled with Creme Egg filling onto a bin bag."
I feel like this is gonna be one of those films, like Wrinkle in Time & Punisher: War Zone, where the overall reception skews pretty negative but the people who *get* it love it. Like, in recent weeks I started expecting a mediocre film that I dig just 'cause I love Venom & Hardy. But, with some of the praise I've seen (like the reviews I posted last night), I think we could have a cult favorite on our hands.
Yeah, this wasn't good at all but I had fun with it. Easily the most WTF big budget movie this year. I did at least appreciate Tom Hardy doing everything he could with the Eddie Brock character, though Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate were sadly underutilized. Long story short, this is pretty much the fun kind of bad movie And stay after the credits for something better than the rest of the film if you're gonna see this
