This movie does seem to be getting a ton of promo. I see ads every time I watch TV. Curious to see how well it does opening weekend.
What scream? The cop yelling "Mask" and then Hardy yelling the same thing? Or Venom's growl at the end? EDIT Ah, googled Wilhelm scream. That's hilarious. I don't know how the Hell you guys notice things like that haha I had to know to listen for it
I actually thought that most recent clip is the best clip we've gotten for this movie action-wise anyways.
I actually didn't know that's what it was called til I looked at the YouTube comments today haha. It did stick out to me as recognizable the first time I watched though lol
I know it hasn’t come out yet but it’s already disappointing because I really like Tom Hardy for this role. I hate when a good casting goes to waste (I’m lookin at you Batfleck). Hopefully I’m wrong and the movie slays. Fingers crossed!
30 to 40 mins of his favorite stuff were cut! I get a scene, but 30 to 40 minutes!? That's like a whole sub plot haha.
Sony getting their grubby hands on things really does tend to be the cause of some of the worst decisions in Spider-Man related films. I still think the first two ASM films would have been so much better, you could tell from the sloppy editing that scenes were cut in odd places. And who knows how Spider-Man 3 would have been if they didn't force Raimi to shoehorn in Venom.
I'll always find it interesting what people consider "idiots at writing" while loving some of the MCU shit. Feels like motivated reasoning. If the movie was in the MCU, the bad writing would be defended, if it's SONY, then they're idiots. Sigh
Nah. The MCU has idiot writing too. For example, Homecoming making Peter rely on Stark for his suit is dumb, or the entirety of Thor the dark world. Just wait until you see the scene I’m referring to in Venom. You’ll have Spider-Man 3 flashbacks, literally.
I’m going into this film Friday with zero expectations. If the story sucks, Hardy will at least make the acting worth sitting through.
Social media reactions will flood in tonight at 10, so we'll have a better idea of what to expect then. Embargoes lifting the week of release is typically not an encouraging sign.
