I think McFarlane's looks a lot better, but from just a still picture stand point. I think in live action and in motion, the movie design would probably work better, if that makes any sense to anyone.
If this first film does the solid numbers they're currently expecting, it's not hard to picture another film. Even if this one ends up bad. They have a strong property, and a great lead. If they budgeted the film right, get that new record for an October release, and play their cards right with their next live action Marvel film, they'll have all the momentum needed to keep this going. Especially with Into the Spider-Verse & Far From Home in the meantime.
Yeah I mean if this was connected to the MCU then I could see three more appearances, but planning three more Venonm movies without the first even being out seems like over kill.
Could just be one of those where they've tied him in for so many movies dependent on the success of this. I know that they do this with contracts all the time so why would this be any different, especially for a franchise?
When they sign an actor to a film, don't they automatically sign them to multi-film deals just in case they do more? It doesn't mean they have to do them, but in the case that it takes off then they don't have to worry about negotiating with the star. Pretty much, studios want to avoid a Robert Downey Jr situation haha.
Because only Kevin Feige is allowed to have an eye on building franchises. Duh. Hollywood does have a nasty habit of getting ahead of themselves and not putting as much care into the film in front of them as they should, but at the same time, what smart studio is gonna adapt this kind of property without being ready for more?
Of course they signed him for more films since they want this film to start their own shared universe. Sony would be dumb to not lock down Tom Hardy for multiple films.
Watched that movie for the first time before seeing The Meg a few weeks ago and was blown away by the song and music video. Truly unreal.
PG-13 and the runtime is 1hr 52min. The more I think about it and see the trailers, the less excited about this I am. Hope it's good, though.
I’m at the point where unless the majority of this thread comes back and says that this is an incredible, must see film, I’ll probably wait for the DVD. I trust the collective Chorus opinion.
