Read these speculations too, and I must say, there are definitely high chances that Toxin and possibly other symbiotes could be appearing in the movie, since it's been reported since the early days of shooting that the plot is based on the Lethal Protector story arc.
I think people, including myself, were initially sceptical because Sony's track record with Marvel properties recently has not been up to par. My admiration for the MCU basically takes precedence and I was gutted to hear about a Venom movie that may not be connected. Even after seeing that first teaser I was so bummed. Now that this trailer has been released, I can basically eat my words haha
i would imagine if carnage is in at all its woody as cletus the majority of the movie and a post credit scene shows the symbiote with hin
Just realized that this movie started filming 5 months AFTER Aquaman and we have two trailers for venom and none for aquaman.
I’m not super excited for aquaman but I really don’t think we need these trailers that long before their release. Aquaman is out in December and this in October I don’t think it’s necessary for a couple months still.
Let Aquaman team take as long as they need. Rushing to keep up with Marvel has been WB's issue for a bit now.
Is Tom Hardy good? What is his best performance of the last five years? I love him, but i struggle to think of a reason why lol.
i love this movie. it’s one of my favorites of the decade for sure. he’s maybe the third or fourth best performance in it?
he did a ton of work pre-inception that i truly love. and a few after too. his recent choices are more and more bizarre. again, if i were to come up with a list of 10 or so favorite working actors, he’d be in it. but i truly do not know why half the time. i think it’s just a natural charisma thing more so than a “okay look at this performance” thing
If people haven't seen Locke, I highly recommend it. His performance in Legend is also really good, although the movie isn't great. I thought he was great and mumbly in Lawless. He's good in Child 44 too, but that movie also wasn't great.
Gave Legend a shot, but sometimes that accent is so hard to understand, I found myself wondering WTF was happening a lot.
He's been great in pretty much everything I've seen him in. He was good in Taboo last year, though that show was a bit of a slog at times. I feel like even if Venom ends up not being great, Hardy will still be good in it.
Like him a lot in some of what's been said already (Locke, Warrior, Mad Max). His Bane was also really cool in a corny-yet-menacing kinda way, which is a great combo for Venom, especially with the above pathos thrown in.
Corniness is good for a character like Venom, though, as long as there's also intensity and vulnerability. Eddie Brock typically thrives in that intersection.
