I knew the chest thing was gonna be something people complained about. I guess they’re right of course Venom has never had just a plain chest with no logo before this would be unprecedented in all of Venom history it’s a total outrage whatever will we d-

No one said it would be weird if Venom had a plain chest. People are saying it will be weird if he doesn't have a plain chest or has a spider emblem on it given that Spider-Man never wore the symbiote prior to Eddie attaining it.

 

People are saying “what’s gonna be on his chest if Peter Parker isn’t involved?” Nothing. The answer is nothing. People need to stop making problems where they don’t exist.

 

Never heard anyone complain about Tom Hardy's voice in a movie before this is new what's this ... ?

 

And, as I've said before in this thread, as a massive Superman fan... If we can accept that Superman has a Kryptonian family crest that represents "hope" that just happens to also be clearly an "S"... We can accept that an alien creature just happens to have a design that kinda looks like a super stylized spider.

 

I don't get some of these complaints to be honest. O well. The people in the news post seem to be split between hating it (cause over the top is the only way to go) and thinking it looks alright.

Maybe there will be a reference that explains it in the movie too, we dunno.

 

when Venom plays Spidey's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something?

 

oh i forgot! reddit also did not like "embrace...your inner....anti-hero" - not demons or dark side but anti-hero (which i do find kinda funny)

 

And if it had been “demons” they would be saying it’s too cliche.

i'm a simple dude. i saw some cool action and michelle williams (so there will be at least one good performance for sure, sorry tom hardy). this has also led me down a rabbit hole on She-Venom.

in case you guys didn't know, i am not a comic reader/movie watcher. no real reason though

Like four people worked on the screenplay, (including a guy that worked on the OG Spider-Man everyone praises) why are people being exceptionally shitty about this movie? (And for what it’s worth, Kelly did some polishing on the script ... and also did a great job with ‘Saving Mr Banks’ so the above comments seem ... weird.)

 

Because the line delivery in the trailer is pretty rough? Glad you are excited for it, more power to you.

Not seeing a lot to look forward to here in something I was previously pretty into conceptually.

 

No it’s not. It’s fine. It’s no worse than the shit going on from Thanos. These comments are ridiculously over the top.

It could be a bad trailer cut in all honesty, but something felt noticeably off to me.

 

You said more than just that but I was speaking generally.

 

My honest compliant is that this honestly looks and sounds like a mess to me but ultimately it’s my own opinion and if people are excited for it, I’m not going to say they’re wrong for being excited for it. Who knows, this could actually be a fun movie and this was just a bad trailer, it happens.
