Just watched it. Gotta be honest I liked the first way more and I’m not even a big fan of the first one. The editing in this was so inconsistent. The fight between Venom and Carnage was exactly what I hoped it wouldn’t be. I’d honestly give this film a 3/10. The only redeeming factors about the film is the end credit scene and that it was so short I didn’t have to sit in the theater for long watching this.
Honestly, probably not for a while. We can't risk getting COVID right now, so I don't see us going to the theatre anytime soon.
End credit scene sparked a reaction from my theater that was unbelievably loud. And there wasn’t even a ton of people there lol. fun movie.
Same for my theater. As soon as they heard who was talking during the end credit the audience made more noise than they did during the actual movie.
Looking forward to the Tim and Jason thoughts. Seeing this with my nephew who just watched the first this week and loved it.
Someone mind spoiler tagging the after credits scene everyone's been talking about? I'm curious if the "leaks" that came out around the time of the UK showing were accurate
this is a tiny bit better than the first, both technically and in general. tom rules, venom rules, most other things are decent in spite of the mess. hard to see anyone who liked venom 1 being let down here
The one thing I liked more in the first film was the editing. This has some pacing issues which gave me whiplash, particularly right before the third act.
there was about 9-10 others in my theater and they responded more to the mid-credits scene than anything in the actual film. i was practically alone laughing at the shit venom was saying
Haha fair enough! I'm sure I'll still see it either way, just won't risk going to a theater during covid for it. ... NWH might be another story though. Having the self control to wait until it's out of theaters would be very difficult
