yeah it was just ok, but I had fun with it.

My favorite line: "The adoration I had for your work has completely EVAPORATED!"

  4. This was kind of hard to sit through in a theater setting. But I think if I had watched it at home, I would have turned it off.

    This was good trash.

  8. This was clunky and messy and really fucking dumb but once Magnussen’s final scene happened and I realized this was going to be nothing like Nightcrawler, I made the decision to just buy in and wound up having fun with the ride. I laughed a lot. Final Destination vibes for sure. Always interesting seeing a movie this bad with such a great cast but I guess it’s sorta what kept me hooked so whatever

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

jesus christ there is not remotely enough Collette in this

    Dyer is totally wasted too

i love how committed everyone is in this (especially jake gyllenhal)
really wasn't expecting this to follow nightcrawler, I feel like that movie would of been impossible to top so he's wiping the slate clean with a super grimy horror movie and I can't be mad at that, my biggest complaint is that most of the kills felt pg-13, would of liked some more commitment.

Holy shit this is bad. Confirms my belief that Nightcrawler is only decent because Gyllenhaal is so good in it and this director is actually dogshit.

I wanted to see who the cinematographer was for this calamity, because it's genuinely a hideous looking movie, and I can not fucking believe it was Robert Elswit. The dude did There Will Be Blood for fucks sake! How does this movie look so flat and uninteresting?

WHY DOES EVERY NETFLIX MOVIE HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL YET TURNS OUT ABSOLUTELY TERRRRRRIBLE?!

Except Roma. If that’s considered a Netflix movie.

This was well acted and looked really good at times, outside of that though, I did not enjoy it at all. Maybe I didn't "get it", although I'm not sure there was a whole lot to get.

Yea, real iffy on this. Felt like it couldn’t decide to be fully campy or actually serious / scary. Would have been better if it leaned more towards either direction.

You could tell this was a lot longer after edits. The fact that the three main characters all died at the same time made everything feel rushed. They probably could have cut more out of the boring beginning parts of the film to stretch it out better.

Just starting this now, haven’t had a chance to really take time by myself and get into it until today. I know reactions have been mixed but everything about it is so directly up my alley that I still have high hopes.

I’m still super into it so far. I feel like they can do some great stuff dealing with who art belongs to or how artists can be consumed or how the relationships with galleries can be so toxic. I REALLY hope we stay in that realm and go super stylized but thought provoking.

It’s kind of teetering on the edge of being silly and reminding me too much of Ongo Gablogian in parts, so if something tips in that way they may lose me. But this cast and the subject and the look can forgive a ton of faults.
