I think the songs that have cleans are tailored to the music. It would be weird if they tried throwing cleans on “Versus Wyoming” or “Lights Out”
One last thing regarding the "incident" I haven't seen any victims come forward or any evidence that any one was even attacked or injured. It's all just hearsay from third parties, mostly people who weren't even at the show. The only reason I can even assume that a gun was actually pulled was bc Momentum seems to admit to it. Whatever happened, obviously it wasn't handled properly, and Monument's response was lame af and made me lose respect for them (I cant stand the tough guy mentality and toxicity and don't believe in the adage of "it's just hardcore"), but I don't think everyone has to respond to every rumor made against them or people around them. MetalTrenches and the "fake" Turnstile account are pretty much the spearheads of this whole thing and I dont find them to be all that credible since one of them wasn't even at the show and was falling over himself to get the cops involved, and the other claimed the venue was destroyed and proceeded to provide "evidence" of nothing more than a video of a mic stand being thrown.
For whatever it’s worth, if you’re really not a fan of the toxic meathead hardcore scene, then don’t check the tweets that Vein has liked over the last few days because they are all for that scene
And, for what it’s worth, I’m not saying that or anything else to tell people not to listen to or support this band. Y’all can do whatever you want. I dig their music, but I hate the message they’re sending. We can walk and chew gum at the same time, ya know?
guns have no place in touring, I'm sorry. I have no patience for bands who want to defend having guns on tour or bands who stay silent when their tour mates promote gun culture. even if vein don't have guns, let's hear that confirmed, and let's denounce bands who want to create unsafe environments.
I guess my view on guns differs from everyone on this websites because that entire aspect of this seems like a huge non issue at all to me. But maybe that’s because I’ve been listening to hip-hop music my whole life and saw people bringing guns in left and right when I interned at a predominantly hip-hop studio. So if a band is into guns I can’t say I really give a shit that’s their thing. And the rest as someone pointed out is really just heresy until someone that’s an actual victim of being punched by a member of vein as a child or a woman comes forward and says hey this happened to me. Not a doubt in my mind the dudes in a hardcore band from Boston are meat heads with a shitty attitude but I just….I just don’t fucking care man. I don’t know. Maybe that makes me…idk. Don’t think it actually say anything about me.
it isn't the responsibility of the victims to directly tell the public that they were assaulted but I get your point. i am still listening to this album. it's okay to do so and think the way they handled this is incredibly odd.
it's not the responsibility of the victims to come forward, but without a victim there is no crime. I mean if you want Vein to denounce gun violence or whatever, then fine, I guess the pulling of the gun was at least corroborated, but I still haven't seen any evidence that anyone assaulted a woman or child (or anyone for that matter) outside of a random tweet from a witness (who then deleted the tweet) that doesn't know who was assaulted or who specifically assaulted them (just naming two whole ass bands)
Like I said before the gun thing isn’t inherently a huge deal. Embracing an unsafe environment at your shows for women specifically (not just talking mosh pits here) is very sus and shouldn’t be tolerated nor swept under the rug. But whatever, I won’t keep beating the dead horse The album is good, doesn’t quite shock me like Errorzone but it’s nice to have more music in that... I’m sorry, vein
I think this record met my expectations, wish there were more samples/turntables. Funeral Sound is so sick
Same here. I can't remember which song it was but there was a breakdown bit with some heeaavvy Slipknot influenced turntables on it and fuck man, I just want more.
I think after about a good 7 listens, it's on par with errorzone. Errorzone had 1 or 2 more stand-out songs but I like this as a whole more. Wavery might be my favorite on this. Overall really happy with it
I don't really know much about what happened with whatever situation but I'll keep my ears open for the future As for the album I just got to it now and it's super cool, really dig Fear in Non Fiction (not surprising considering Geoff, he fits great on it) and honestly pretty much the whole run from Magazine Beach until the end. I've been a semi-casual listener of them through Terrors Realm, Self-Destruct and Errorzone which I all enjoy but this is probably their coolest release so far to me
imo, this is WAY more impressive than Errorzone. I wasnt as hot on that album as a lot of people on this site, though.
