God this cd makes me want to start playing bumper chairs in my office while I'm jamming it. Such a banger.
Just listened to this based on someone on my Facebook posting about it. Thought it was just some meathead hardcore; boy was I wrong. That was a treat. This is going to get some spins for sure.
I fiiiiiinally got a chance to listen to listen to this entire thing today. Immediately went for round two when it finished. Holy shit.
these guys are definitely doing something right bc i've pretty much exclusively seen universal praise for this album thus far very stoked to see them tomorrow
The only people I've seen dislike this say it sounds too "nu metal" which is bullshit but also you're a fucking poser if you deny your nu metal past. EVERYONE age 23-28 was listening to Linkin Park/Korn/Slipknot in their prime.
Yeah these guys have splashes of nu-metal but are much more of a botch-styled start-stop groove based metal core band. Big things are ahead, since the actual songwriting on this album is fantastic.
The drumming, production and some of the guitar effects have nu metal stylings, but this definitely more reminiscent of stuff like converge and botch. Also this album is phemphenom, probably besting greyhaven ( which I love tremendously)
So the sampled breakbeat at the beginning of "virus://vibrance" is almost identical to one used in a Slipknot song. The Vein video shows a guy cutting his eyes out and the Slipknot song is called "Eyeless". Definite nod to an obvious influence? This guy thinks so.
anyone who doesn't like this album can die in a fire. its my number 1 at the moment. track 2 fucking slays me. @bradsonemanband are u sure they are playing slc next week? cant find anything about it.
one of my FB friends posted a flyer about it, but other than that, i also haven't seen anything else... so who knows! i'll hit up my buddy today and see what the skinny is.
