I'm not sure I'd personally put the album in classic territory (as opposed to say, Forever by Code Orange) but it's certainly a quality record. Not sure where they go from here but I'm really looking forward to it.
I think of this as more of a classic than "Forever", but that may just be because I like this album infinitely more.
this had classic vibes from the moment it came out. way better than anything CO have ever put out imo and I don't even dislike CO time will look on this album very fondly
would i consider this album a classic yet? probably not. maybe in five years? it's hard to judge an album's "classic" status a year and some change after it comes out. though i will agree, this is infinitely better than anything code orange has ever put out. do i think vein's best is yet to come? probably.
In their genre, I can't think of another album that instantly blew me away this much this decade. Especially for a debut.
They've also been a band for a pretty long time all things considered. Some of these songs are like 5 years old.
I would also agree that it’s better than any one CO record, but I think CO paved the way - in a sense - for Vein and a lot of their ilk in terms of embracing particular musical and aesthetic influences. For better or worse.
I honestly don't see them putting out another record until sometime in 2021, but who knows... another headlining run would be cool though.
Haven't they been playing many new songs live though? They have to be far in the writing process at least
when they came through on their headliner they played a new heavy one and then a reimagined lo-fi version of Untitled
I wouldn't doubt if they were far along in writing process, I just think they still have enough steam from Errorzone that waiting til 2021 wouldn't be a bad idea.
