This Minneapolis company is making yogurt from sunflower seeds | City Pages Definitely not a fan of most of the soy or coconut based faux yogurts out there, so this is cool to see
does anyone who doesn't have allergies actually get sick when they eat nonvegan stuff? I never do but i wasn't veg for like 22 years so i'm maybe not a good reference
Once at a continental breakfast my uncle said the omelettes were cheese and I took his word for it and ate several bites before realizing it was ham. Also once I ordered a veggie burrito and it had chicken in it but I spit that out right away. Basically now I unwrap and scrutinize everything oop. The other day I ordered a salad and asked for no meat and add avocado. Instead they gave me meat and no avocado
Visited NYC and Philly this year and god damn I miss the massive range of veggie/vegan options there. Where I live if I want that, I have to make it myself. Going out to eat is slowly getting better, there are definitely more places offering good vegan options but it's really hit and miss. I miss having HipCityVeg or Wizkid or Urban Vegan Kitchen. Going Chicago for Riot Fest and a couple of us are hoping to find some great food places there.
I've never been to Chicago but I can't wait to try the Chicago Diner when I finally do make it over there.
When I visited NYC earlier this year my gf and I went to Brooklyn and randomly found a vegan pizza place that was also attached to a vegan ice cream place...thought I'd died and went to heaven haha
Chicago Diner is really good. I used to live by the one in Boys Town in Lakeview. It’s really good. Not necessarily healthy, but the food is really good. The best part about it imo is that it doesn’t have a hip/snobby feel to it. The place is very unassuming and just sort of exists. Chicago is really good if you are going veg, but was sort of ok in terms of vegan. It depends what your are looking for. There are some good vegan pizza options.
Speaking of Chicago, the vegan leather jackets from Straight to Hell are really great. Just got mine and very impressed with the quality.
Burger King lawsuit: A vegan man is suing the food chain because the Impossible Whopper is allegedly cooked on the same grill as meat - CNN
Tons of new products released for Veganuary in the UK today. Vegan steak bake from Greggs Vegan pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut Vegan chicken burger from KFC Vegan meatball marinara from Subway plus tons of new vegan friendly sauces Vegan dippers from McDonalds (they look terrible but i guess they exist) How am I meant to eat healthily with these and much much more to try?
If y’all have Kroger/ king soopers in your area, their simple truth line is absolutely killing it. Cookies, sour cream, sausage patties...everything. It’s great.
Wow I made this post at start of thread and I’ve been vegan for three years now! And still managed to keep being vegan through finding out I’m gluten sensitive! No excuses
Had the absolute pleasure of letting @dylan Thin Mint girl scout cookies are vegan and i wasn't even done finishing the sentence and he booked it back to those girl scouts
