Also can't forget about this classic Glenn: (sorry, did not mean to change this into a TTOI quote thread)
Just finished 5 and am now all caught up. This is so fucking good. It totally lived up to the hype for me. (still wish Amy Poehler had won at least one Emmy for Parks but I'm not upset with JLD getting so many anymore). Gonna be hard to watch this just weekly now.
What happens to political satire when the real world goes mad? ‘Veep’ is about to find out. this article is incredibly good and insightful
did you ever start Veep? i'm in the same boat you were in when you originally posted this. if you started it, how do you like it?
Premiere was great, hope we get some scenes with more than a few of the cast in the same room at the same time though. Despite that, lots of great angles for the individual character plots, plenty of potential there.
Loved the Dan and Jonah bits in the premiere. Also Catherine crying will always make me laugh. Don't give up yet! What other tv comedies do you like?
Ones I like: The Office, Parks and Rec, Seinfeld, Modern Family, Its Always Sunny Ones I'm "Meh" on: New Girl, Kimmy Schmidt Ones I hate: Scrubs, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother
I'm a massive fan of The Thick of It, and ended up watching Veep because I heard Armando Iannucci worked on it as well (it's basically his concept after all). I was pleasantly surprised how well it translated to an American setting, Iannucci clearly worked with some great American talent. Plus, it manages to maintain the same sort of style as The Thick of It. Quality! Interested to see what they're doing with it currently, I might just skip ahead a few seasons...
The first seeds of it have already been planted. Imagine they start a PAC or something together by the end of the season? Or a lobbying firm? That'd be a good excuse to get everyone together again.
