I think he has a soft spot for the vamp kids. he seemed genuinely intrigued throughout the very long interview
Dillon, CO at the Dillon Amphitheater. Main setlist was awesome (played Run for the first time since 2020 and Hannah Hunt which is all I wanted) but they came out for the encore and just played like 30-60s covers for a bit. We left after about the 2nd or 3rd cover but could hear them play Walcott and Flower Moon on the way back to the car.
I have an extra lawn ticket for the Chicago show on Saturday if anyone is looking - will sell for face value minus fees ($30ish)
They were really great tonight. I’d somehow never(!) seen them and was not disappointed. Pretty decently high up in the cheaper seats at a big shed and they sounded incredible, really good production value, etc, and Ezra is one of the more gifted live singers I’d say. Definitely recommend catching this tour, although I understand I’m perhaps higher on the new record than some people
I think the record is being hailed as one of their best by many. But ya, that set was unreal. I started convulsing when the banner fell and the like 12 person band or whatever was all on the stage (saw them in Phoenix}. They're all so talented. Absolutely unreal live.
I am on my way back from seeing them in Chicago and wow wow wow, amazing show. It was my first time ever seeing them live after being a fan for years and they absolutely delivered. They just killed it.
I wish I coulda gone but I was exhausted from starting my new job this week and knew I had Thursday the day after ugh the new record is in my top 3 of the year
Navy Pier in Chicago does twice a week fireworks over the pier and while they were playing “Mary Boone” on Saturday the venue spliced the fireworks behind Ezra and the band on the monitors and it was super cool. https://www.reddit.com/r/Vampireweekend/s/td6F7KQCwI
Also, Maya Rudolph opening the show doing a Prince covers set was not something I ever knew I needed but was ridiculously cool.
At Milwaukee show. Delayed due to crazy rain & thunder. Thank god I scored pit tickets and am covered.
Show was phenomenal. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to see them live. So glad we got Hope on our date. Fun song to sing with a bunch of strangers.
going to both MSG shows this weekend. looking forward to seeing what they pull out for these setlists considering the 'no repeats' (except a-punk) stipulation.
looks like they walked back on the no repeats idea. said in the latest Vampire Campfire as an FYI, should still be 60 percent different according to them. will be there Saturday excited to see em again!
going Sunday, was very hard to decide which one to go to but now I can see Julien on Saturday and VW on Sunday so win win
Really wish they just completely canned that stipulation. Sure they don't have to be exactly the same sets, but this is my first time seeing them so ideally I'd like them to not hold back for something like this!
its my first time too which is why im considering both days haha, dont know how often they really come around like this.
I mean they are honestly so phenomenal live. I'm not even their biggest fan and I would've considered a second night if I could have.
I went to only one night this summer and it was great, but I looked at the setlist for the second show and it seemed to be even better!
I would have went two nights if I could have. I did see their Coachella set though in addition to their headliner so that was cool
