I never really cared for the hard times comedy, but I at least appreciated it more than their hard turn into ranking albums from bands
I keep trying to like Father of the Bride but I still don't like Father of the Bride. I'm not entirely sure why. There are times where it just feels too cute and clean, for lack of a better description. Obviously there never was an edge to this band, but I dunno, the album has never worked for me.
The more I think about it the more I think Vampire Weekend might be my favorite current band. Every album is a banger and that spot has been empty for me ever since Circa Survive broke up. This album is incredible. Trying to figure out where else I can see them on this tour.
VW and all the Justin Vernon projects continue to be the lasting two groups from the 00’s indie boom. Never miss and continue to put out fresh and meaningful work.
It's sick enough that they covered Chalk Dust Torture, but the fact that they went all out and did Mirror In The Bathroom as a nod to the epic 11/27/98 show is even better.
One month out from the MKE show. So excited to finally get this band off my bucket list. Played OGWAU this morning and it is climbing my ranking for releases from the vamp kids.
Ezra Koenig (Part 1) not sure if anyone has posted this, but it’s a two parter interview of Ezra with Rick Rubin. It’s one of the best music interviews that covers the most ground of a bands career i’ve ever heard. So enthralling. highly recommend.
