Okay, I like Rich Man a lot more than when I first heard it.

 

I really hope they do b-sides and call it Father of the Bride Part II

 

Okay. I finished. This is wayyy better as a whole than I gave it credit for. It is also a huge mood right now being in lockdown in Philadelphia. Stranger-Spring Snow-JNYB is an amazing way to end a record.

 

finally picked up a copy of this as the first purchase in my record store since lockdown. felt off while shopping in there and needed to bring some positive vibes home with me to help balance it out. worked like a charm. this thing is fantastic.

 

I didn't realize so many people had the debut as their least favorite, it still has a strong case for being my favorite. All four are incredibly strong though imo

 

They got better with each release. I’d be shocked if they topped FOTB but I’ll never doubt Ezra.

 

the live ep they dropped today was a nice surprise!

had been listening to a ton of bootlegs since seeing them so a higher quality format was welcomed.

would love to see them drop a full live album.

I was just thinking about bumping this thread yesterday - put this album on again for the first time in a bit and dang if it ain't a masterpiece. Still feel like there's a few too many songs, but it still blows me away how good this ended up being.

 

I would probably agree that it’s maybe 3-4 songs too long, but i never really care when its on hah

 

I don't really think it's too long, I think it's an optics thing. It may be 18 tracks long, but it's under an hour in runtime. Can't think of cutting anything

 

Yeah this is why is probably never feels like an 18 song album haha

Agree with all this. Kinda feels like the band already made the right choices to cut the 3 bonus tracks and everything else feels necessary to me.

 

Less the runtime and more that there's a handful I think are just decent, which sticks out a bit when the highs are abundant (and well, high). Prob cutting all the HAIM songs unless you count Stranger as one . But honestly there is so much excellent material on here it doesn't really matter.

 

oh lordy, no way would I cut any of the Danielle trilogy, no wayyyyyy
