Ezra is being interviewed in Beats1. Album title is Father of the Bride and out in “probably April but don’t kill me if it’s May”
Harmony Hall sounds so much like the Rolling Stones lol. As someone who usually doesn't care about this band, I vibe with how timeless that song feels.
- Two features, one of them Steve Lacy of the Internet, both of them on multiple songs. - Rostam worked on Harmony Hall and another track
i was hoping the snake would be the album cover lol but i’m glad it’s soemthing two lovely songs. i only care for mvotc but i LOVE that album and i’m glad they’re keeping me hooked. maybe i’ll try the first two again today
Probably just a me problem, but the re-use of the Finger Back lyric kind of bothers me. Especially when it’s the first thing I’m hearing from them in like 6 years. It’s a solid song, but it’s not that different for them and hearing that lyric again (even the delivery is almost the same) is bringing my attention to that.
John Lennon referenced “Strawberry Fields” and like 4 other Beatles songs in “Glass Onion”. Most songs weren’t even out for like 2 years.
Yeah, I’m not even opposed to call backs or anything. I think it just gave me a weird first impression of this album. Not the same feeling I had listening to Horchata or Diane Young/Step where I was blown away by how much they had evolved their sound. 2021 gives me more of that feeling but is too short to really have an impact. It’s already growing on me though so I’m probably just worried for no reason!
