That first track. So pleasant.

 

A few songs into my second listen.

It’s really good. Glad to have them back.

 

Yeah there’s some that are subtle and some that are more concrete and Ezra has confirmed them. “Cousins” references a sweater at the ocean floor which works as a double reference to “A-Punk” and “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” and the couple in “Run” are the same couple in “Hannah Hunt”. There’s also just the general themes of middle/upper class collegiate characters just living their lives.

I regret not pre-ordering this. so great.

 

I've never been able to latch on to this band for some reason. Absolutely LOVING this though. Perfect summer vibes.

Damn, that Stereogum review has some great lines:

Reading it totally made me like the album even more.

 

“stranger” is an absolutely perfect song

 

Yea this album is just so pleasant to listen to, can't think of a more apt word to describe it

 

I love knowing all the love songs are about rashida Jones lol

 

when i first found out that was her dad I went insane and then when I found out her mom is Peggy Lipton I went triple insane talk about good genes jesus christ

 

God I forgot they were together, good shit

 

Whew this is great. Can't wait for their show next month.

Sympathy into Sunflower.. wowie

 

I like the non single songs. Harmony Hall just does nothing for me.

 

The double bass on Sympathy is fucking wild

 

Sympathy, Sunflower, and Flower Moon is my favorite stretch on the album. Love them all so much. This whole thing is great and is undoubtedly going to get better every listen.

 

Sunflower and Flower Moon back-to-back is amazing. This whole album is great. Listened in the car this morning and was grinning most of the time.

 

Wasn’t blown away on first listen but hope it catches my ear. Really enjoyed Sympathy, Sunflower, and Stranger.
