Sunflower is fucking wild, I don't know how I feel about it. Big Blue is great, though same as 2021 I want it to be longer!
"Sunflower" is some half-baked bullshit. Sounds like a White Denim soundcheck. "Big Blue" is fine I guess but it also feels like an incomplete sketch. "Harmony Hall" is a fantastic song but the other three released so far have been at best just okay to my ears.
I haven't had a chance to give the two newest ones more than just a quick listen, but at this point, and I hate to say it, but I agree with this. With so many songs on the album I am holding out hope that there are still some very solid songs left to discover when the album comes out, stuff on the same level as 'Harmony Hall" hopefully.
3 of the 4 songs are basically 120 seconds or less so you're point about being half-baked resonates there any album that has more than 13 tracks is always in danger of filler and I feel like we've gotten at least 2 or 3 filler tracks out of the 4 released
The only one I had any desire to listen to more than once has been 'Harmony Hall"... I am obviously going to listen to the whole album when it comes out, and that may change.
