I adore cats and have two. I like to think at some point I’ll adopt older ones instead of getting them as kittens as I usually do. But I don’t handle loss well. So the notion of getting an elderly cat terrifies me.

Well you dont have to get a senior cat. My cat was labeled "adult" (which meant her adoption fees were cheaper) but was maybe 8-10months, definitely wasnt the cute little babies everyone always fawns over. I've had her 11 years. I wish I could get the senior cats, but I dont have the finances to take care of medical expenses. My brother had a diabetic cat and the insulin for a while was $300 a vile/2-3months. We had to put the cat to sleep in February and I miss that mushy little stink so much. I got my mom pillows with the cats on them for gifts and the one with the (now) dead cat is so creepy. Oops

Oh I absolutely just meant senior. I’ve had cats from 1-2 years old before. My current two were kittens though, brother and sister. God that sounds awful. And yeah haha I’ve always avoided sentimental items like that for that exactttt reason!
