Make sure to have the essentials all ready to go (litter box, food/water bowl, food [tho you'll likely feed them what the adoption place fed them to start before switching to whatever], a bed or something). don't go too crazy buying stuff because they might not like it and then you wasted money lol (Neil didn't care for either bed i bought, preferring to just use mine, lol) and they dont usually like every toy.

then you look at what cats are at the different places near you. dont necessarily go with one cat in mind, maybe have a few you want to meet (plus their sites arent necessarily updated frequently enough to account for adoptions during that day or the day before).
