not gonna lie, i love being able to just walk into the apple store, pick what i need, scan it, and leave the store without having to interact with anyone lol

 

Yeah like the whole attitude about “unskilled labor” is whack to me. Like...okay EVEN IF you say that these people are all worthless at hard work, not smart, whatever you want to say

like....then what? What’s the implication there? That they should just DIE? Lmao??? Like? Dumb people still need to fucking survive we’re not animals?!

I just meant that even if it were true that like people in ~unskilled labor~ jobs were the dumbest of the barrel, or you know disabled in some way(don’t get me started on disabled minimum wages) , it’s like....and? when I worked at target 90% of the customers didn’t know how to use self checkout lol. they’d come up and ask me “uuuuh how do you pay?” and id say “you touch the giant “pay” button on the screen”

 

"you know where it says press to pay and then screams at you to insert money or insert debit card"

 

i didn't mean that they were being those things, i just meant it can feel like it, especially on the internet and double when it feels like, like you said, you're supposed to say certain things in response. such a silly dance. damn you . , i'm such a softie this week

sometimes those self check outs are confusing and they don't tell you when to scan the coupons

 

lol i'll never forget like my first ever experience with a self checkout - either CVS or Walgreens like 10-12 years ago had a new self checkout thing, but it wasnt an actual self checkout, it was a way for you to scan everything, bag it all up, and then just bring the receipt to the cashier to scan and pay, i guess to minimize the time spent per cashier transaction??

so my friend and i were in there buying a ton of stuff for a party, like 3-4 cases of beer, cups, snacks, etc. - and i guess neither one of us was paying attention and thought the other was taking care of payment, and we just bagged everything up and fucking left lol and then go in the car and back to the house and were like 'wait....did you pay?? no...did you pay??"

we stole like at least $100 worth of shit from there that day lol

 

when i worked at mcdonalds, anyone who could take breakfast orders was a very skilled laborer in my eyes. that shit was like another language. and like, you still need skills for any job

I had to do a lot less shit working at an office job than I did working at regal

 

i almost did that with pictures but got stopped leaving the store. i wasn't trying to steal them, but there was no price, no payment asked before i printed the pictures, and the employee (a girl i had classes with in hs at the time who entered a fucking code so i could print them) said nothing about a price. I EVEN ASKED FOR A BAG SO THE PICTURES WOULDN'T GET WET IN THE RAIN. 20 fucking dollars for fall out boy pictures. never again.

I don’t wish harm on him cause obv I love him and I want him to be happy
But at the same time it hurts to think of him just carrying on like nothings wrong and just moving on which is very very difficult for me
People here have seen this before tho with me, with this guy and when my previous ex lol. I think that’s why everyone’s sick of my whining and I don’t blame them I have some repeat bad habits

anyway he did say that he had his time to kind of grieve and process because obviously he took a few days space and knew it was coming. But he’s also an inherently much less emotional person and does not care for me on that level etc etc

I’m kinda exhausted now but yeah there’s deff a lot of history and nuance to the relationship that you don’t really know lol it’s dumb. I’m dumb.

this is honestly the wildest part, like, sure my job can be majorly stressful because i'm managing big expensive accounts but like, i get paid waaaay more money to sit in a cushy computer chair all day than i did when i worked in a grocery store for $7 an hour and literally never sat down unless it was my state mandated 15 fucking minute break.

Rightttt. That’s why I said bodily too cause when I was working at publix it was standing for hours and I was sore even then when I was young and in much better shape lol. Literally could not do that now. Why does anyone have to? It’s hell on the body.

When I worked at McDonald’s in high school, they would force my 30 min break like an hour in my 6am-2pm Sunday shift every time. Hated that shit.
