I dont mean to keep bringing this up if you dont want to talk about it, but YES it does suck, we've pretty much all been there, is perfectly normal and ok to be feeling like that, and we all have different ways of dealing with it. Say that no you're not ok to those posts, you never know what insight you'll get back! Was your best friend also ya boy? Obviously that's never easy.. lose one and you lose both

And yeah, part of what sucks is that some of the pain comes from exactly why we split- aka being too codependent and our lives too entwined. Him being my boy and my best friend and my “only person who understands me” etc etc was a lot of pressure
And like. I get that. But it’s not like I chose to not have friends. I hate not feeling like people get me. I hate not wanting to form relationships with many people.
Anyway it makes the split harder bc our lives were so intertwined that everything feels like stabbing knives without him

it’s going to suck when retail stores open up and with all these new ways to buy without a cashier happens so companies decided to start firing people that they don’t “need”

 

also I have two weeks left on this ot schedule and then they are sending me to another building to help build retail back up for a month so I can never escape

Yeah but what’s sad is that that should be something we actually strive for and having automation replace us should be the goal because hello less work but of course because we can’t just take care of our people’s basic needs because geez why would that make sense!!!, we have to be afraid of it and not want it instead because loss of jobs means loss of people being able to afford basic needs. Dummmmbbbb

also like automated cashiers wouldn’t be risking their lives rn soo those people could be safely staying home.

 

yeah i mean, it's a double edged sword because on one hand you would hate to see job loss especially AFTER this is over, but, on the other you'd LIKE to think that if companies had less employees, they might be able to treat them better or support them more. of course this is all a dream and corporations will still just pocket profits and then get bailed out when they need to, but, alas.

 

yeah in a perfect world we wouldn’t even need to work and we’d still survive. everything is automated and people can just have a good time but nah, money is important even though we made it up

 

Yeah I just meant that if we had a society that embraced less work and more leisure since that’s just a fucking perk of modernizing society and we HAVE the means to provide basic needs to everyone and instead make them work pointless jobs like cashiering and make them stand for 12 hours and be put at risk during a pandemic or even flu season. Like. There’s no point. Except because these people need things to survive that we already make an abundance of.

I'd feel better about self checkouts if they worked more than 18% of the time lol

also it's super sad how gleeful people get about retail and other places that offer minimum wage jobs you don't need a degree for closing
