one of my favorite episodes - S2 is very underrated I think.

 

Man it was so hard to watch at times, though. Like to witness a true gambling addict allow his life to spiral out of control like that.

It was a really good episode though.

 

when Sil freaks out about the kid trying to sweep up the cheese. An absolute classic Sil scene.

 

I was dying laughing at that, and when he throws the food off of his plate onto the floor too. So funny, classic mob movie/show scene.

 

one of my favorite things about the show is that, while it for the most part is a very serious drama, there are moments when the show does not take itself too seriously at all and will absolutely be a parody almost of itself.

The show is very much intended to be a black comedy way more often than I feel like it gets credit for when people talk about it. Like, the one thing I definitely wasn't prepared for going in was how legitimately funny it is.

Also just personally I know so many people both in my own family and among friends of my family who are so similar to some of the characters on the show so it's funny in that way for me as well.

 

It’s fate.

And yeah it’s such a funny show. A ton of that comes from it being SO well written. The malapropisms and strange little domestic moments are funnier than most straight up comedies, and they never detract from how serious and powerful it can be.

 

also it's very clear that David Chase is, uh, a huge Twin Peaks fan considering those dream sequences

 

oh man, the dream sequences just keep getting crazier hah

 

The one from early on with Christopher in the deli seemed like it was ripped directly from Lynch, in a good way. The guy was even wrapped in plastic!

 

The fact that they were able to weave in such surreal and esoteric episodes or storytelling techniques in a massive mainstream hit will always impress me.

 

I also love that they reference Goodfellas so often and yet Tony never brings up how much his therapist resembles Lorraine Bracco

I can't wear the regular wired Apple headphones either, but the Airpods do fit slightly different/better especially because you don't have a chord pulling them down so that extra weight (while minimal) is gone. They're still not the most comfortable headphones for me, after like 2 hours of continuous use they start to bother me but it's much better than the wired ones.
