My other grandfather passed more than a decade ago and then grandma on the same side like 5 years ago. It was sad but they never were close or cared to be involved in their grandchildren’s life.

My grandfather who just passed today was very involved. He was a shitty father but did his best to make it up to his children by being a great grandfather. Just grandma left and she’s now sort of freed. My grandfather could barely walk over the last decade and a lot was heaped onto her.

Sometimes I feel like I’m wasting my time or wondering why I’m doing it bc it feels useless. So many posts do go unnoticed or at least not engaged with by the people they should be.

all I try and do is offer alternative perspectives to things. Yes I know I can come across abrasive but I genuinely don’t know how to change that. This is just how I talk especially when fired up. But yeah white men get to play devils advocate so much that there are countless memes about the trope..all I’m trying to do is offer a perspective that’s not heard often enough.

I don’t expect people to jump on then and there but if it even plants a seed that causes them to think twice later, then I’m doing my job.

 

My absolute favorite is when the men who are constantly the most aggressive and belittling to people on this site every single day are the ones who say you’re too mean to them.
