i had to have a very frank and direct talk with my mom when all this started because she kept like inviting us over for dinner and i kept saying no and i could tell she started to get like offended and i had to very annoyingly explain my position.

 

It is tempting, but it seems like I should just go for it and make the dough. It doesn't seem that intimidating now that I've made a few cakes and have nailed making pasta dough. For a long time, I found the idea of making a pie to be very intimidating.

 

Ohhh! You could probably buy good dough too though right, if you didn't feel like making it? Do bakeries sell pie dough?

 

I think it's funny you find that intimidating since you nail everything else. Baking can be a different beast but I'm sure you'd be great at it.

 

Yeah Jocelyn keeps explaining it to him and we think he's understood but then he keeps doing it lol. Before all of this started I never had him pegged with this kind of mindset, he just keeps downplaying it's not a big deal, not wearing a mask anywhere, etc. It's been really eyeopening

 

I've only gone to my dad's for special occasions. Birthday, college graduation, this Sunday. My stepmom invited her dad and stepmom (both high 80s) and her sister from Staten Island who has been to protests recently

I've never attempted pie dough because I just hate rolling out dough. The amount of cookies I make in December is enough to put me off the idea entirely.

My parents said they’re pretty sick yesterday, sucks too cuz they were feeling better but then got a worse second wave of symptoms. It’s annoying because they were really careful, not going out, dad was working from home etc, but then my brother went out for drinks (I think the casino of all fucking places) and then got corona and gave it to them.

 

But also I dont want to tell her she cant see her parents either. I tired to diffuse it with an event but that didnt work
