Chapter 2:

Today Mr. Winkles tied me to the bed. He said it's a fun little game he likes to play when he makes new friends. I said "yay, I love making new friends!" Then he brought out the axe and I knew I was in for another fun-filled day.

do you ever begin to have a memory, and right before the full memory forms you realize it was actually a dream you had?

 

Ah. I see. That is an issue, because being peaceful is the point. I used to love just going out by myself for hours and wandering around or sitting somewhere totally alone.

I guess the closest I would get to woods activities as an adult was when I still could go to camp and every now and then some of us would just go walking around different trails while drinking and talking. That was super fun.

 

Yes. Sometimes I realize my memories are actually dreams and I just feel sad

 

i rarely remember my dreams

 

You CAN. Nobody is forcing you to lol.

And you choose the volume. So example - I have distant thunder, light rain, the sound of the ocean tides coming in, and a campfire crackling...all going on at the same time, at different volumes so everything is extremely subtle. Helps me sleep.

Not very often, pretty much only right after I wake up from a particularly intense dream and have to figure out if something bad happened for real or was made up in my sleep. I have had a few recurring dreams that were so vivid I almost remember them happening, but those were mostly when I was a kid.

That also reminds me of one of my favorite Steven Wright jokes about trying to rent a dream at the video store.
