It was first vaguely about racism but then more broadly about like where you get information and news. She was straight up like no I don’t get news anywhere. I dont see things. I’m like dude I know you scroll through Facebook. And when I tried to be like ok so your bubble on Facebook is all white Christian straight people...so you get a very narrow perspective. She understood but then when I tried to extend that to so that results in you seeing only one type of news perspective she just refused to have it. I was like dude.

and she randomly was like “they don’t want you to say merry Christmas!!!” And I was like who tf are they lmao and she said the atheists and I’m like lmao mom I’m literally an atheist I know what atheists believe and I went through the whole ordeal of explaining separation of church and state for her and then she acted like she understood but then the next moment was like “I don’t have views!” I was like ...the thing you just said was something that you had to have heard SOMEWHERE. Like you had to have gotten the idea from somewhere??? It was like talking to a brick wall.

she literally then took the stance of “I don’t know what’s going on in the world!” I was like lol ok if you admit you don’t know what’s going on in the world then why do you act as if you do? Why don’t you listen to me, who DOES pay attention to what’s going on in the world???? And that’s when she was like I’m leaving.
It’s just shitty. She’s shitty.

 

Oh and also I talked to her a bit about the kkk history I mentioned in here last night and tried to be like do you understand how those views could be still affecting people considering it’s their very close (even still living) ancestors that were talking about? And she was legit like “well when we first came here this town was like nothing, it wasn’t built up at all yet”. I’m like ....?? Wut
