I'm not a hardcore gambler, nor am I going there with the expectation of leaving with more money than I went with. I set a budget of usually 100-200 a day for gambling funds and don't go over that. I see what you're saying with the Einstein quote, but it doesn't really apply because I am expecting to lose a little money, but to also have a lot of fun playing the games. That said, I have left weekends at a casino with my whole trip paid for & more. It's not just about being on the casino floor for me. It's the whole experience of seeing the surrounding area, eating really good food at a wide variety of great restaurants, the excitement of gambling, having fun with friends and/or a significant other.

Just the same as someone could spend hundreds of dollars on tickets & travel expenses to a music festival, you know that you're spending/losing money by doing it, but you're willing to pay that price for the fun that you expect to have.

 

I'm in a weird place where I feel like I need to be as informed about this virus as I can be and yet at the same time I just wanna tune it all out to save a little sanity while I've still got it
