Idk man I think in the scope of human history monogamy is a relatively recent thing. For what it's worth I think the opposite argument (regarding monogamy) is also untrue lol

To reference back to my first post that started all this lol, I try to refrain from judging just because I don’t understand... but I definitely am baffled a lot by how monogamous relationships turn into poly ones. I think that specifically is what I don’t understand more than anything else

I also feel like (and I don’t mean to imply this is what happened with your friend- I obv don’t know that situation) but I feel like so often when that happens (a mono relationship becomes a poly), one of the people in the original relationship was more or less forced into it so I feel like it can set up a bad dynamic from the get go

 

but really, for some reason I thought about the real world Las Vegas when you mentioned this. When Steven and trishelle(?) were going at it and that one housemate got pissed lol

 

Ahh yeah can't imagine having to do any kind of heavy lifting or something where you exert a lot of energy

I got contacts for that reason but i'm finding that contacts don't agree with my eyes much either so it's a lose lose situation lol

 

I'm sure that's the case sometimes, that somebody feels forced, just this situation isn't like that and it actually helped their communication in the long term because they HAD to communicate and be honest about feelings or else people would get hurt - and they both hurt each other sometimes but they grew and changed and became very strong through it all, I honestly think it could have possibly saved their marriage but I mean everybody is different and who knows what happens in the future. Just nice to think that so many different lifestyles can be valid!
