Not much, just doing my best to survive lol. Is renting vacation homes really picking up again?

 

Also I know I’m pages (days?) late at this point but I absolutely love Raffi and am kicking myself that I missed the discussion about him. He’s the best. Need to make sure my niece and nephew have more of his music.

 

It’s a bit of both but are business essentially went from a huge loss to a big spike of people desperate to go places. Families and people cancelling plane trips and instead getting in the car and going to other places like a nearby Vacation rental. Also npr listed vacation rentals as one of the safest activities to do as long as you social distance. We also have a large number of rural and outdoor escapes for people looking to just get away. So it’s been a bit insane out of nowhere and we are actually up 120% for bookings from last year now that things have “deescalated” for COVID. But all the nuances of how they have to operate now with county or state mandated guidelines are causing a lot of craziness and questions/concerns. Every county basically has different legal requirements and I get yelled at every day for things beyond my control so that’s fun! So volume is insane. We let people go in march and now we are bringing some of them back due to this completely unpredictable 180 that happened. And we had to hire a bunch of people from a temp agency just to help.

Personally I don't believe in plants. Yhey attract bees which is bad. Not in MY backyahd

 

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. It's wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

I spent the weekend housesitting my parent’s house and the family dogs and it felt weird being here since I’ve been moved out about a year now.

it didn’t feel like home at all and I just kinda wished I was at my apartment. I remember back then I used to miss it but now I’m just like nah.

they went to Oregon to my cousin’s graduation party because I guess over there groups of 20 are allowed.

they asked me if I wanted to go and I said heck no.

 

It’s going to suck when they blame the protests for the covid rise when in reality it was opening up the economy and also gyms start opening up soon and those are the worst unless they clean like crazy.

 

It’s weird when people talk about a second wave when the virus never went away. It’s still the first wave. A “second wave” in a few months is more like a second wave of people caring about the virus

I mean I guess in some areas that terminology makes sense. A lot of places have had no new cases in a while, or the cases have been dwindling rapidly and consistently. If there’s a sudden spike in cases then voila, second wave. But with America? Yeah. No.
