Really good. It’s one you’ll want to see more than once and with a good crowd. I got stuck with some horror psychics behind me who would just constantly yell what they thought would happen next. Really annoying. I was really impressed with this. It might try just a little too hard and have too many plates spinning when it doesn’t need to, but it’s pretty visionary stuff and the climax is amazing.
eeeeeeeeeeeee i am so excited i feel like get out was just so shocking how good it truly was, i don’t think anyone expected that level of quality from Peele and now the bar is set pretty high. is it actually scary?
It has a pretty creepy atmosphere, but there’s a fair amount of comedy in it that keeps it from being too scary, which is absolutely fine.
Some of it was, for me. And yeah, I'm also positive this will benefit from rewatches, as Get Out did. Wouldn't surprise me if a second or third go of this will have me thinking I still didn't give it enough credit
Did you yell at those people? Good lord why the fuck do people do that? Why I love Alamo Drafthouse. You do that stuff and you get tossed.
I need to exercise more control reading reviews, but I can't help it! Luckily nothing is spoiled yet but they hint at the themes of the film which I think is setting my expectations too far in advance, for better or worse.
Planned to see this yesterday but now I’m unexpectedly going to visit my dad for a few days and he is so not into it. This wait will be awful!!
I'm always reluctant to yell at people for fear of just adding to the noise. They thankfully were quiet during the silent parts of the film. But, yeah, who goes to the movie to just show off how smart they think they are? No one is impressed.
I want to see it Friday during the day but idk if it will even be possible. I have a pass for a free movie so unfortunately have to get the ticket in person
i have managed to not see one trailer or plot sypnosis of this thing and we are going in totally blind Friday night. i cannot wait.
@Serh I dunno if this is the right word for it, but I thought this movie was surprisingly a lot of fun. Moreso than it was scary. Not a bad thing. Also, Lupita is incredible I grew up going to the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk every summer for like the first 15 years of my life so that initial scene was a little creepy haha
There are definitely a lot of actions the main characters do that are reallllllly dumb but I kinda forgive it just cause of how outlandish the whole thing is
I haven't seen it but don't care about spoilers much, but: I don't think I've ever cared about characters making dumb decisions in movies, especially in horror movies. Like, they have to go back into the scary house or whatever for the movie to even exist. I think that's something people harp on too much, not that you're doing that specifically, of course.
Review: Jordan Peele’s Us Stylishly Filters the Horrors of Economic Oppression Makes me very hype to see this. Some spoilers.
Still have 7 1/2 hours before i see this, but I can't stop myself coming in here to see reactions. Thank god for the redactions lol
I haven't seen the movie yet (I'm seeing it at 7:00 tonight) and I've already bought a ticket to see it a second time on Monday. Someone stop me.
definitely planning on seeing it again on tuesday already lol i saw get out 4 times in theatres and it was great every time
