Already not reading too much into what they're saying about the next Rogen movie already being looked at by SXSW, which kinda sucks as I thoroughly enjoyed the last two films he did with that director
Maybe I'm being too trusting of critics, but the more I read up on this, the less worried I am about it. Honestly though, Get Out was such a confident and layered movie that I already felt good about whatever Jordan Peele would put out next. He and Damien Chazelle are shaping up to be the new Christopher Nolan for me where I'll pretty much get behind whatever they do.
We're seeing it at an AMC on Tuesday and I'm excited but damn I wish it was showing at Alamo instead haha, love it there
I’ll be checking only to find out if there’s anything particularly disturbing to prepare myself for. Other than that I’ll need serious spoiler blinders.
Oh hey, I don't know how familiar you are with these advance screenings, but you're gonna want to get there pretty early. Like an hour and a half at least. Just having a pass doesn't get you in, these pre-screenings are intentionally overbooked so that they guarantee a full house. Also, if it's anything like Boston, there'll be plenty of horror buffs appearing in droves ahead of schedule as well
I'm not familiar but my wife is and I'm off work at 5 now so we're gonna head straight there I'm certain hahaha. (screening at 730)
Gonna etch out sometime to catch a showing mid-week next week. Hopefully crowd-less as it'll open huge this weekend.
Right now I'd say Get Out is better, but this is my favorite film of the year thus far (as Get Out was this time two years ago, in all fairness)
Also, I should let y'all know if you were worried about the trailers giving too much away... nope! If anything, they were intentional misdirection
