I think part of the time it’s just to break up the tension they’re feeling, even though I thought Peele did a great job of that onhis own when he threw in some humor.

 

Another stray thought - I wonder if there was any significance to Adelaide wanting the son to get into rhythm on “I Got 5 On It,” since it seemed to be a callback when they confront his tether in the parking lot and he’s snapping in rhythm.

 

Funniest line in the movie was “Nobody wants the boat, dad.”

 

I am having a first viewing on Thursday with my girlfriend to discuss on our podcast this weekend and then again next Tuesday with a friend to talk about it on his podcast.

First time I have ever had 2 viewings lined up without every having seen a film. lol

 

I liked the, “I’m done with boats.”

Still laughed the hardest at Tim psyching her out even if it was also terrifying.

 

It's really the best too slow in cinematic history.

 

I mean if you’re an identical twin, this is 100% your Halloween costume.

i went to buy tickets and one of theatre had every single showing (20+ times) of it sold out

Just saw this. Not sure how I feel about it. I think I don’t totally get it.

I do know that I fucking hate the people that talked and crinkled their loud ass snacks all fucking movie.

 

Amazing. And step one in his revenge plot was creating a sketch show that puts both of those to absolute shame.

 

I honestly think Adelaide being able to speak so well is the hardest for me to accept. She'd have had major language deprivation and it seems like her speech would be impacted idk lemme go dust off those child development textbooks I pretended to read in college

 

Yeah, I kinda loved this. Sprawling, ambitious, uneven, loose, unsettling, original, and quite funny. It's almost exactly what I'd hoped for.

 

I would honestly love if he cast himself in one of his films. I haven't seen this yet but from the trailer it basically seems like Winston Duke is doing an impression of him anyway lol

 

I skimmed the thread so let me know if this has been brought up. I had a thought and it seems like a biiit of a stretch but each of the main 4 killed their own tethered and the way they were killed were by the 4 elements (water, earth, fire and air). I don't know what that would mean in the big picture but maybe someone else can put the pieces together.

 

Yeah it seemed like the entirety of his direction to Winston was “Act like Jordan Peele” lol. Even the glasses and facial hair! It was uncanny.
