He recently did an interview with Mike Herrera on his podcast, and they talked about the new album quite a bit!
I feel like he said before the end of the year- i'll have to go back and listen to it. He poked a bit of fun at Swan, but said that most of those songs are really fun to play live.
Oh nice! I didn’t think they were in the studio recording. Really looking forward to having a new album. Can’t believe its been 8 years since Swan.
To add to the Herrera podcast info... Scott said it should be 11 tracks and a bonus track. He said when writing the album, if they couldn't play it acoustically, they scrapped the song. He wanted it to shine acoustically first. He said there is a fast/punk song. Heavy stuff. Dead Kennedy's sounding punk. A Clash-inspired reggae sort of song. He said they worked hard to make sure people listen to the album and would be reminded why they like Unwritten Law. I'm still finishing the episode, but he hits on all of this in the first 15 mins.
Really like the self titled album. Elva is cool too. I remember loving Seeing Red because of the movie Grind. One of favorite movies of all time lol.
Just posting my bi-annual announcement that Swan still blows. Also, does anybody miss 90's record scratching as much as I do?
Well, I'm definitely putting on Elva now. I'm glad this thread popped up, haven't thought about these guys in a while.
I think self-titled is their best but I won't begrudge Elva as people's pick. Those are def the top 2.
I actually went and listened to this absolute beast after posting in this thread this morning: You've 100% nailed it
I'm definitely going to be listening to some UL today. Might just put their whole discog on shuffle instead of picking an album.
Wow totally forgot about this band. I never really got into their stuff, but absolutely loved and played Save Me to death growing up
