There is no way you all ranking HUM this low

  4. The only reason I’d rank them that low is because they’re the ones I’m least familiar with. I’ve listened to hum a handful of times but I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to Swans more than once.

Self Titled is easily my #1 though.

I guess it’s very personal opinion based.
I never got into the their first two albums so they are easily on bottom for me.
I like the rest equally but HUM is number one for me.Just great album front to back with everything I like about UL.

i thought the hum was pretty boring and forgettable, nothing jumped out at me so i never revisited it. it was long and just kinda went on,,,

i was so stoked because it had been so long, they had wade back on drums and it just didnt do anything for them or me haha what a dud of a comeback album, and the re-recordings were weird at the end too.

And the cover with his daughter right in the middle was a sore thumb too

The Hum gave us "Magnetic," so I'm very glad it exists.

I think there was a good ep within the album. I go back to these tracks once in a while.

    Magnetic
    Lighthead
    Dark Seas
    Murder Days

I honestly can't understand how someone could like Elva, but not The Hum. I just think the quality of the material and the recording is so high and the way the album is structured and how invigorated they sound, it feels like the spiritual sequel to Elva. But hey, all music is subjective so to each their own! Elva and The Hum are easily my top two for UL.
