saying 100 gecs auto tune is bad or saying it was meant to make fun of auto tune is hilarious considering the auto tune on that record is a genuine innovation in auto tune and an advancement of it that hadn't been done before, hence why rappers and pop musicians are collaborating with them - they want their auto tune to sound that good

I'll rephrase it: There's something truly depressing to me about the phrase "genuine innovation in auto tune". I can count on one hand the number of people who have used autotune well and still have fingers left over.

Artists need to stop using autotune and start using a vocoder more. You all know i'm right.

I've been diving into weird realms of music this past year though and really realized I don't need other people to approve of my music anymore because they aren't going to lol. It doesn't really make a difference either way.

Autotune is great. More bands should stop being cowards and incorporate it into their musical vocabulary. when The Dangerous Summer did it last year it was sick.

I think Francis and the Lights should be grandfathered into this, since he created the whole prismizer thing Justin Vernon uses.

Edit: Oh, also, almost every band you like that uses a professional studio probably uses autotune. Those guys just use it as an effect.
